Today has been a day! My heart is so full!! I started the day out volunteering with my softball babies at Liberty for Christmas in Glen Oaks.

I spent the mid day with my babies, as always.

The icing on the cake was the private screening of “The Color Purple” sponsored by The Douglas L. Williams Educational and Athletic Foundation. It started off as a small vision of just renting a smaller theater, but the request kept coming. I pondered for days about renting a bigger theater, but my fear was not filling the seats. They always say pray and don’t worry, and if you are going to worry don’t pray. I literally gave it to God and was going to just suck it up if I failed. So I called and went from 136 to 287 seats. Needless to say to say, 277 seats were purchased.

If I caused any inconvenience to anyone by pushing the start time back due to the concession line, please forgive me. Walking in the theater, looking around, all I could do is smile and say Thank You! Toward the end of the movie tears started rolling down my face. My emotions were high and I had to release it. Everyone knows that the holidays are really hard for me. I try to shake it every year, but it never works. To look around seeing familiar and unfamiliar faces, support me was just overwhelming. I give so much daily that sometimes I don’t even take a moment to say job well done.

Despite the things that I go through, a lot of satisfaction comes from seeing others smile and enjoy themselves. I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for being apart of my vision and sacrifice. Thank you for your patience and love for this event. Because of you all! I will be able to start 3 scholarship funds in memory of my biological mom (Janice Ann Goss-Williams), My Madear (Mama- Laura Shot Matthews-Williams) and my grandfather (Robert Williams Sr.).

THANK YOU ALL!!!💜💜💜💜

Long Post Alert:

After being so stressed these last weeks about the camp, I can finally rest!! I had to really sit back and take it all in yesterday. I was emotional and relieved because God came through for me. One of my weakness is asking for people for help. I don’t know why but I have always struggled with it. I am so thankful for the family, friends, and strangers God placed in my life. So many individuals stepped up and in to help me make this run smoothly. I even had parents who were in the stands come help when I asked if anyone wanted to volunteer.

I was told several times through out the week that closed mouths don’t get fed. Even in the midst of troubles, God sends my Rams from the bushes!! I may organize the camp but I am damn sure not alone when it comes to the day of operations. I just know I am THANKFUL and BLESSED! One thing Shot always told me, if I do good by people, then people will do good by you. One of my gifts is acts of service. If I can help in any way, I’m there! I don’t do what I do for money and/or accolades. I don’t even need a photo opportunity. I do what I do because I love children, I love to feed I to their development, and I just love helping people.

Let me take a time a thank those who made me look good on yesterday!!! Lord please don’t let me leave anyone out….Amen!!!

1. My baby girl J’niya Amiree Monique Graham!!! My baby drove me to Zachary to pick up a U-Haul, drove back alone (with me following of course), helped me pack it up, unpack it at the stadium, pack it back up, unpack it and then drove to the uhaul place to pick me up. Not to mention we both woke up at 5:30am. She also worked at the water station during the camp.

2. BREC for partnering with the The Douglas L. Williams Educational and Athletic Foundation to make this happen. Thanks R.J. Sensley and McKinley for letting me worry y’all all day. Also thank you to the BREC workers who assisted and stayed after to help clean up lock up once we left the stadium (April Scott this included your baby).

3. Kenn Anio Jr. I called him maybe a week or two before and asked him to lead the field part of the camp because that wasn’t my expertise. Without any hesitation he answered yes. I also have to shoutout the other coaches that came out to assist as well. I didn’t know all of them and I am not friends with some of them but if you know them please let them know I am grateful for them. Shoutout to Rohan Davey, Landry L. Williams, Ross Akpan (He even brought 20 kids with him), Aaron Micah, Doug Williams Jr., Chris Brown…Forever Grateful!!!!!

4. Thank you to Coach Darrin Wicker!!! All I did was say coach I need you to do the same thing from last year, his only response was “I got you!” He kept the coolers full and the water flowing for the entire camp. He did everything with a smile!!

5. Thank you Coach Augustine!! He arrived at 7:30am and I didn’t have to say a word. He said just tell me what goes where and I got it from there. He even called and had the medical staff on stand by if anything went wrong

6. Thank you DJ Royal Tee for the sounds during the entire camp. Please make sure you thank your MC as well.

7. Thank you to my cooks (my family) for making sure the food was right, hot, and done on time. Jermaine Williams, Andrel Sanders, Joseph Young, and Johnny J. J. Huggins I appreciate y’all!!

8. Bradley Bee of Pics N Chooses, THANK YOU!! I literally texted him like two days before and again with no hesitation he said yes. He really never tells me no and always makes room for me. Always my guy!! 🖤❤️

9. Marcus Selders thank you to you, your wife, and children for keeping the spectators cool with Italian Ice.

10. Lacrecia Fergurson Terrance Thank you Nana for blessing our spectators with the EduProject and being a sponsor. Thank you for also calling your family out to volunteer during the camp, please tell them Thank You!!

11. Pamela Williams Howard thank you cousin for getting I Care to come out and represent Siri g the camp.

12. To my family!!! Y’all showed up and showed out!! I didn’t have to beg or plead, you just found a place and stepped in. Have to give a shout out to you all, so Thank you: Temessia Turner, Tamika Sims Williams, Jaci Williams, Kayla Williams, Laura B, Peyton Lewis, Jerica McQuirter, Michelle Williams Barber, Cierra Carr, Kibi Huggins, Sarah Hayes, Manzie Williams, Nefertiti Wolf Huggins, Iketria Boyd, Jacqueline Venson, Jacqueline Huggins, Chanda Williams, and My boy Eddie!!! The Doug Williams Football camp is Saturday, July 22nd from 9am-12pm at Memorial Stadium. Check-in will start at 8:00am.

We are still accepting vendors if you would like to set up a table. If anyone needs volunteer hours ir just want to help please let me know as well.

At this time, registration is completely closed as we have exceeded our projected number of 500 with 750 kids registered. There is a current waitlist of 200 plus kids 🤦🏾‍♀️🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️. My apologies to those who were not able to register this year.

As you know people will not show even tho they are registered. All I can suggest is to show up that day and if someone doesn’t show by 8:45 your child will take their place.

This year’s camp will feature Ken Kenn Anio Jr., Rohan Davey, Danny Johnson, Doug Williams Jr. and many other surrounding coaches and college players. See y’all Saturday!! ❤️❤️
