Good morning. Drop your anchor.

It happens to us in such a subtle way that we don't even realize that we have drifted away from what is good for us.

The writer is speaking to us about “drifting” away from the truth, theceord of God. There is and urgency about being anchored to the truth of God’s word. In 1st Corinthians 15:58 it says, Therefore, My beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

In order not to drift away by every storm that comes at us, we must be tied to something that doesn't move. Something that is solid and has been tested to hold strong.

That is Jesus Christ my friends. If we are not secure in our relationship with Jesus, it will be easy for satan and issues brought by him to throw us off course and send us spinning out of control.

We need the stability of John 3:16, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Colossians 3:1-3. We need to give more earnest heed to the things that we have heard in God’s word by the Holy Spirit and be grounded by living it daily.

With Jesus, we are solidly grounded, immovable and ready for every good work in Christ Jesus as a workman who has been approved by faith and by God’s grace in Jesus’ name.

Have the greatest dsy ever.

“DROP YOUR ANCHOR IN CHRIST JESUS!”

Hebrews 2:1
New King James Version
Do Not Neglect Salvation

2 Therefore we must give [a]the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

Good morning. Who are you putting first?

Who and what do we focus on, because that becomes the target of what we think and do?

Think about it. The Apostle James is trying to show us what it means not to be self-centered. When we make our target all about us, or the agenda about us, we see everyone and everything else as of less importantance.

We don't mean to and we often can't see it but pray that Jesus brings it to the forefront of our thinking so that we can repent of it and be healed.

Be quick to hear. What does God’s word say? If we are to love our enemies, what does loving look like to the ones we care for the most? Hear Jesus first. Speak to Jesus first and the overflow of those two traits will silence the wrath that chooses through our thoughts to come out.

We don't realize the size of the fire or the amount of grace our tongue can produce until it spills from our deepest places inside of us. I would rather my lips spill the grace and mercy that the Lord has blessed me with, rather than use words that don't edify and encourage other’s.

Be careful what you think because our thoughts become actions. Lord forgive me if I have not been quick to hear and quick to speak your goodness, gentleness, kindness, peace, patience, faithfulness, joy, to have self-control and most importantly to love like you do. Show us how to make you the target so that we don't make others the target in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Forgive as we have been forgiven. Have the greatest day ever.

James 1:19-20
New King James Version
Qualities Needed in Trials

19 [a]So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Good morning. What do we need to earnestly pray for?

I couldn't get this out yesterday, but as I sit here and think about it, I think of the times that Jesus stepped in for me when I wasn't able to fight for myself.

Jesus prayed more earnestly, not because He was afraid of what was about to happen to Him, because of the separation He was about to experience away from the Father.

The stress of taking on everyone’s sins and the Father turning His back on those sins was an agonizing experience that Jesus had to go through for us.

There is so much just in this one scripture but Jesus bled from His forehead so that we wouldn't have to carry the stress, shame, making bad decisions, labeling ourselves and other’s and living with the burden of the weight of sin.

He took all those things upon Himself so that we wouldn't have to carry them. He reversed the curses against you and I so that the chains that bound us, would be broken.

Today, I choose to walk as a free son, whose weight of every bad thing, bad decisions, bad “period” has been removed and I choose not to use excuses to justify what Jesus has set me free from.

The shackles are off, mine and your burdens have been lifted and the blood of Jesus redeemed us as sons and daughters to a greater and brighter new day in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Have a great day being a son or daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Luke 22:44
New King James Version
44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Good morning. What have we made our lifestyle?

We will know the answer by our response. Do you speak with Jesus daily, weekly, monthly, when convenient, during certain situations?

We can evaluate anything we do by how often we do it. The way we talk, walk, drive, react, are all signs of something that we do consistently and this is what Jesus is referring to.

The sheep will go “in and out and find pasture. As believers in Christ we learn how to discern the voice of our Shepherd when He calls and we are confident to go to Him.

It is when that voice no longer sounds like our shepherd that we should get uncomfortable and find our way back to Him. We go in and out from Him, because we have peace to know that He is close by.

What kind of benefits does our lifestyle get us? By grace we have been saved. His grace (our Shepherd) has taken us into His fold and has removed the weight of sin, fear, guilt, shame, disease and everything else that has made us feel sick and oppressed.

A Shepherd makes sure that His sheep hear His voice and the sheep listen and go in and out with liberty knowing that they are under the covering of someone who cares for them and loves them.

Be assured and know when someone or something calls you and it's not the voice of Jesus who has spoken the truth of the word over you and has healed and delivered you, don't answer to it.

I am praying for spiritual discernment and revelation for all of us about speaking things that sound like what Jesus would say and not what everyone around us says. We don't have to be like anyone else but Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the door to our physical and spiritual liberty in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Have a great day.

John 10:9
New King James Version
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

Deuteronomy 28:6
New King James Version
6 “Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

Good morning. We need active living faith.

We cannot be so spiritual about this subject and do nothing. Understanding that works don't save us is one thing, but refusing to activate your spiritual life by doing nothing is something else.

God’s grace is sufficient for us. We don't have to prove our faith by doing things but a saved life does for other’e, because of a changed life.

James makes a point that too often gets overlooked by people of faith by saying, “I’ll pray about it.” In all situations that is true, but don't use prayer as a way to miss out on opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus? Some pray themselves out of things.

What does it profit someone if you encourage them with kind words but they are still hungry? Let me ask you this and this is no way some condemnation to do something. How much do we put aside monthly to give to feed someone, because of our faith? This is outside of judging people, because we work so hard for what we have and they don't.

I saw this next phrase so I thought it would be good to insert it.

(Ephesians 2:9) James merely clarifies for us the kind of faith that saves. We are saved by grace through faith, not by works; but saving faith will have works that accompany it. As a saying goes: faith alone saves, but the faith that saves is not alone; it has good works with it).

In laymans terms, “talk is cheap.” Don't put your money where your mouth is. Let your mouth produce the faith that comes from your heart that tells the rest of your body to move and do something with your changed life by putting your faith to work.

We were able to share 3200 pounds of food this past weekend by faith that produced works of action, because of a grace filled life. If there is no inward change, the outward will expose it.

I am praying that Jesus heals our mind completely from a stuck in the rut lack of faith mentality. When we are set free, we will be free to see them as freed in the name of Jesus.

Have a great day.

James 2:15-16
New King James Version
15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

James 2:21-22
New King James Version
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made [a]perfect?

James 2:26
New King James Version
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Good moring. Passiveness births compromise.

Ezra’s arrival to bring the ministry of teaching God’s word was bearing fruit. The people heard the word and there was conviction amongst those who loved God.

I'm not writing this so that we can separate ourselves from certain ethnicities. I am writing this so that we separate ourselves from bad conversations, agreements to ungodliness, and sin as a whole.

These people were mixing the Holy seed with those who didn't think the same, love God the same, did life differently, chose differently. Maybe this will help someone this morning.

When you begin to hear the word of God, study it and apply it, you'll desire a change to your whole life. You won’t want to “mix” how the world thinks and how God’s word has affected your life in a good way any longer. It is no longer acceptable to desire sin.

It was never acceptable to desire sin, but now you're not passive about it. You don’t want to miss evil with good and you don’t desire to be half way in and half way out.

Ezra was so taken back by this that he plucked the hair from his head and beard and tore his robe and sat down astonished.

This morning as I was praying about these verses, I was overwhelmed with sorrow for those who know Jesus but have been passive about a strong relationship with Him. Our lives show themselves off by the fruit that we bear. Forgive us Lord for being passive about following your word.

In Jesus’ name be healed and delivered from old thinking. Your grace is sufficient and your mercies are new every day Lord.

Have a great day.

Ezra 9:2
New King James Version
2 For they have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed is mixed with the peoples of those lands. Indeed, the hand of the leaders and rulers has been foremost in this [a]trespass.”

Good morning. Don't get comfortable in the valley seasons.

We will go through times when it seems as though there is no way out of the valley. Times when it seems rough. “Everyone” in life experiences those seasons in a personal level. Almost as if you are caught between a rock and a hard place.

Don't get comfortable in your valley seasons. Those times are meant for us to learn things, wait on things and hear the voice of the Holy Spirit to catapult us to our better seasons.

Valley seasons are temporary. Do not conform to the world and the status quo of sometimes getting the pity party it's never going to be better mentality.

Jesus has you in His grip. He will never leave you Alone even in your valley season. I am praying for you and your family.

Psalm 23:4 (NIV): "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
