Message from UCPSA’s Chief Operating Officer Rhonda Murray

As Chief Operating Officer of UCPSA, I want to share important information regarding ongoing discussions about funding for disability services in Arizona. The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is facing a budget shortfall, which could impact funding for essential services as early as May 2025 if additional appropriations are not secured.

Recent legislative discussions have included proposals to address this shortfall, including potential reductions in funding for services and changes to programs such as Parents as Paid Caregivers (PPCG). The extent of these adjustments and their potential impact on individuals with disabilities and their families are key discussion points among policymakers.

These services are vital in supporting individuals with disabilities daily, helping them remain in their communities and receive the care they need. As the conversation continues, many stakeholders, including families, HCBS providers, caregivers, and advocacy organizations, will closely monitor developments.

Happy Thanksgiving from UCPSA

This Thanksgiving, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our staff and the individuals and families we are privileged to serve. Your dedication, resilience, and kindness inspire us every day.

While this season is a time of celebration for many, we also recognize that it can be difficult for some, especially for those we serve, who may face challenges such as poverty, isolation, or limited family support. This Thanksgiving, we wish that everyone has the care, comfort, and resources they need to feel valued and supported.

At UCPSA, we are thankful for the opportunity to be part of such a compassionate community. Thank you for allowing us to walk alongside you and be part of your lives.

May your holiday be filled with warmth, hope, and peace.

With gratitude,
Rhonda and the UCPSA Team
