Kindness is… remembering to say “thank you” to your bus driver! Every school day, bus drivers help kids get where they need to go. A smile, a wave and a simple “thank you” as you step off the bus is an easy way to show them you appreciate what they do.

Tomorrow, make it a point to thank your driver. Those two little words can mean a lot!

Big hearts make big things possible, and there are plenty of ways you can help.

Sponsor a child, give your time or make a donation …. Each one helps us continue supporting children throughout Yuma County. And when many people each do what they can, those individual acts of generosity add up to something pretty amazing!

Sometimes a child's ability to focus on school starts with having their basic needs met and knowing that someone is in their corner. That's the heart behind our Kindness CuddleKit School Program. By working with local schools, we can reach Yuma County children who need extra support and surround them with a little kindness at just the right moment.

Being kind isn't always about doing what's easy. Sometimes it's about having the courage to do what's right. During National Bullying Prevention Month, we're encouraging kids to notice when someone is left out, stand beside a classmate who needs a friend and speak up when they see unkind behavior.

You don't have to be the loudest person in the room to be a leader. Kindness is leadership, too. And one student choosing kindness can inspire an entire campus to do the same.
