Catholic Community Services Yuma

Catholic Community Services Yuma Catholic Community Services strengthens children, adults, families and communities by providing help, creating hope and serving all.

Dear Friends,
When we look out on our community and see the needs that are there as well as the good that our work does, we are reminded of our reasons for serving. In reflecting on these reasons, we find ourselves rejuvenated by core values and beliefs about people, about love, and about community that are the foundation for what we do. We are also rejuvenated by all of you who share the same val

ues and beliefs. As an organization, we are blessed by caring people who give in so many ways -- staff, volunteers, donors, and other supporters. Than you so very much.

Happy Birthday Carmen! It is an honor to celebrate 103 years of living with you! May God bless you with another year of health, love and joy!

Carmen Zuniga from Yuma, Arizona is turning 103 today and she is the heart of her family and community. She loves being social, enjoys music, and never misses a good game of bingo or lotería. Staying active with daily walks and being surrounded by good food, good faith, and plenty of laughter keeps her going strong.

Her secret to a long life: Keep moving, stay connected to family, and always make time for church on Sundays. We are honored to have her at Daybreak. Help us celebrate Carmen’s special day! 🎉 🎂💜

With deep sorrow, we at Catholic Community Services mourn the passing of Pope Francis, who died early Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at the age of 88 in his Vatican residence.

Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he became the 266th pope in 2013, marking history as the first Jesuit and the first Latin American pontiff. Pope Francis was renowned for his humility, choosing to reside in a Vatican guesthouse rather than the traditional Apostolic Palace, and his commitment to social justice, advocating for the poor and marginalized.

Despite facing health challenges, he continued his duties, delivering his final Easter blessing from St. Peter's Basilica on April 20.

Pope Francis's legacy is one of compassion, humility, and a steadfast commitment to Christ's teaching.

May he rest in peace, and may his teachings continue to inspire us all.
