Our Story
FREE ADMISSION - Desert Christ Park is comprised of over 50 steel-reinforced concrete sculptures depicting the ministry and events of Jesus Christ. Each sculpture is hand finished with a white paint/plaster mixture and weigh between three and 16 tons - including the three-story, 125 ton Last Supper Facade. With the exception of the Ascension and the Suffer the Children sculptures, all were built on sight between 1951-1961 by Antone Martin, an aerospace engineer from Inglewood, CA who molded and shaped each sculpture, one bucket at a time. For more information on Antone Martin, please visit our website at www.desertchristpark.org. The Desert Christ Park Foundation a 501(c)3 non-profit cares for and continues to preserve the works of art and the gardens. Please contact us if you wish to volunteer to help preserve this Yucca Valley landmark.
