Desert Christ Park Admission is FREE. Desert Christ Park is an all volunteer non profit to maintain and preserve this historic landmark in Yucca Valley since 1951.

Visit Desert Christ Park and enjoy the peaceful scenic views. FREE ADMISSION - Desert Christ Park is comprised of over 50 steel-reinforced concrete statues depicting the ministry and events of Jesus Christ. Each statue is hand finished with a white paint/plaster mixture and weigh between three and 16 tons - including the three-story, 125 ton Last Supper Facade. With the exception of the Ascension

and the Suffer the Children statues, all were built on sight between 1951-1961 by Frank Antone Martin, an aerospace engineer from Inglewood, CA who molded and shaped each statue, one bucket at a time. On your way to Joshua Tree? Stop by Desert Christ Park in Yucca Valley.

The dirt roads are rutted. The creosote smells like rain. The bees are making honey. The view is the entire valley. The peace is palpable.

Come away and rest awhile, walk the trail between the statues in the cool of morning, or beat the heat beneath the olive trees. Bring your own water. Our park is open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Never crowded. Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring your dog. Shovel provided for p**p scoop (you know, dogs not people).

Free admission. Donations welcome (you know, rutted roads not corporations).

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” John 11:25

The majesty of design. Frank Garske designed and built the rock chapel that features a diamond window that perfectly frames the “Unwanted Christ,” now “Christ Ascension” It makes a great photo opportunity for visitors.

If you visit, please be mindful as the Chapel is located on Hosanna Hope/Living Hope Church (formerly Evangelical Free Church). Garske also built the Brownell Fellowship Hall, the first church meeting place.

This is the 75th year of Desert Christ Park. Statues were created on site at the Park from 1953 to 1961 when Martin passed away. The last grouping, Jesus visiting Mary and Martha, was completed in 1957. The last completed statue, Jesus Blessing Mankind, was completed in 1959.

The park has changed over the years and more sculptures have been added since this vintage photo was taken sometime before 1957; but these biblical statues can still be found along dirt and stone-lined pathways between creosote, olive trees, and honeybees.
