For our next Sounds and Storytelling show, we return to where it all began.
Jeremie Levi Samson, a Parisian-born violinist who made the hi-desert his home six years ago, is also a co-founder of Mon Petit Mojave. Many of our earliest shows were carried by his musical talent and his persuasive coaxing of fellow musicians to come play in the middle of the desert.
A violin virtuoso known for his Parisian swing in the style of Django Reinhardt, Jeremie is classically trained but fell in love with jazz and never looked back.
For this performance, he will be joined by a talented roster of musicians, bringing to life a collection of French songs, many of which you will know and love.
Part of our Sounds and Storytelling Series, this show weaves together live music and storytelling, creating space to experience not just the performance, but the stories and cultural roots behind it. This series is made possible in part by the California Arts Council
But that is not all! We are also excited to welcome Dance Mojave to the stage. Their dancers will bring a dynamic repertoire of movement to accompany the live music. Dance Mojave is a growing nonprofit collective of dancers and creative movement artists in the Morongo Basin.
And finally, we are proud to share that this show will include an ASL interpreter, which is a first for us. As part of our ongoing commitment to making our events more accessible, we are grateful to partner with a team helping us bring this service to life which helps our shows reach more people.
