I truly have no words. There really isn’t anything I can say that conveys the depth of our gratitude or how incredibly touched we are by your support. ❤️

🚨💔 LUNA SIBERIAN RESCUE IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP 💔🚨

I honestly don’t know how to write this without feeling completely overwhelmed.

We have no funds left for food, treats, and basic supplies. And our dogs still need us.

We have adoptable dogs and sanctuary dogs who depend on Luna Siberian Rescue every single day. We cannot simply stop feeding them, stop caring for them, or stop providing the medications and medical care they need.

For the first time ever, our Chewy Autoships were cancelled because there simply wasn’t enough money in the account.

I have been paying for our sanctuary dogs’ medications out of my own pocket, including:

💊 Neurontin
💊 Carprofen
💊 Keppra
💊 Phenobarbital
💊 Thyroid medication for 3 dogs
💊 Allergy medications
…and other medications and necessities they need to stay comfortable and healthy.

Recently, I also had to pay more than $3,000 of my own money for emergency veterinary care when one of our dogs went into an Addison’s crisis.

It feels like it never ends.

I work 40 hours a week, and I am also caring for approximately 20 dogs, our home, and our 5-acre property. The day-to-day responsibility has fallen on me. I am a one woman show trying to hold everything up.

I am exhausted.

And I’m going to be honest—I am struggling.

I haven’t been able to post like I normally do. I haven’t been able to keep up with adoption announcements, share when one of our beloved dogs passes, or even post the fun updates and happy moments.

It isn’t because I don’t care.

It’s because right now I am simply trying to keep everything going.

And because we are unable to rescue new dogs right now, we aren’t receiving the pledges that normally help keep our rescue moving forward.

But the dogs already here still need us.

They still need food.

They still need treats.

They still need medications.

They still need supplies.

And they still need the people who promised them that they would never be abandoned again. ❤️🐾

🩷🩷🩷🩷I just heard from Tim and Liz And. Things are going good with respect to the Fire. They have been downgraded from a mandatory evacuation to an evacuation warning and they say that a reliable source has told them that the fire is coming under control and they should be OK. I also want to thank every single person who jumped up and interrupted their busy lives to come out there to help save the animals.🩷🩷🩷🩷

We adopted this beautiful girl out in 2019-2020. She had an amazing mommy who loved her to pieces. Sadly , she passed away about 1.5 years ago. The family kept her, but their life situation changed and Maya needed to come back to Luna Siberian Rescue. It was in her best interest to do so, and we are so thankful that they honored the adoption contract and returned her to us! When we rescued her, her name was Penny Lane. I can’t even remember where she came from.
So Penny is about nine years old now so she’s a senior. She’s very sweet gets along well with the dogs here at Camp Luna. I’m told that she also gets along with little dogs. She’s adapting to her new life here and getting lots of attention and love. Very sweet girl, and I know her momma would be happy to know Maya is ok.
We always take our dogs back. We make space if there is none. Whether they’re gone a day or 10 years they have a soft place to land if life just doesn’t go as planned.

He hit the jackpot and found a wonderful family in the San Diego area. He has a little sister and all the toys that a pup could ever want.
In case you don’t remember Joey, I’ve put a little information in the comments, but I just didn’t wanna ruin this beautiful post with the terrible state/ condition from which he came to us in.
We are so blessed to see an experience a beautiful transformation that he made and the wonderful loving home that he finally found!! L

🚨 $𝟓,𝟏𝟔𝟐.𝟓𝟖. 𝐅𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞.

At the end of April, we did something we’d never had to do before.

𝐖𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬.

Fourteen dogs. A 50-minute drive down the hill we couldn’t take. A full-time, Monday-through-Friday job that doesn’t pause. No volunteer army waiting in the wings. The math simply didn’t work — and the dogs couldn’t wait any longer.

So we arranged an in-house vet day at the ranch. Fourteen exams. Vaccines. Senior bloodwork. Sedation for the ones who needed it. Antibiotics for the ones who were sick. A house-call exam for the one who couldn’t safely come out with the others.

And then there’s 𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚 — recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, facing a $500 follow-up test and a $400 ninety-day refill of her daily Vetoryl. Her care alone runs $1,518.19.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥: $𝟓,𝟏𝟔𝟐.𝟓𝟖. 💔

Every single one of these fifteen dogs is what the rescue world quietly calls 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔-𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑚. They should have been adopted years ago. They weren’t — because they were the dogs no one else wanted to take a chance on. The behavioral ones. The medical ones. The ones who only had a needle waiting for them at an overcrowded shelter.

🐺 𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚 — our Cushing’s girl

🐺 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐤 — came to us with a broken leg

🐺 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 (“𝐊𝐏”) —10-year-old senior who leaks

🐺 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐚 — severe behavioral case who only trusts us

🐺 𝐂𝐡𝐥𝐨𝐞 — born in Armenia, never adopted, developed seizure disorder and an autoimmune disorder

🐺 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐞 — born with major limb defects

🐺 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 — needed sedation just to get through his exam

🐺 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬 (“𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐞”) — born with a genetic urethral condition

🐺 𝐙𝐞𝐥, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞 & 𝐙𝐚𝐫𝐚 — DNA-tested siblings still waiting together. Cleared for euthanasia at a day old where we wouldn’t allow it and we picked them up with momma Zaida and 2 other siblings who were adopted.

🐺 𝐀𝐮𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐲 — rescued in the nick of time

🐺 𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐨 — feral as a puppy, gives respect where it’s earned

🐺 𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡 — rescued from a neglect cage

🐺 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨 — found spinning in circles in Long Beach, neuro & seizure disorder

𝐖𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬.

𝐍𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞.

No one sees the small rescues grinding slow and steady, fighting for the dogs we already promised our lives to. Everyone is so quick to move on to “the next.”

People love watching dogs get pulled from shelters left and right. The celebration posts. The freedom rides. The shares. But does anyone ever stop to wonder what happens to those dogs after the rescue photo? When the rescuer who pulled them keeps pulling more — knowing full well that none are going out the other side? Where do those dogs go? Who’s watching them in boarding for months, for years on end, never knowing what a real couch feels like? When they get sick, does anyone notice? Does anyone pay the bill?

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞.

✓ We believe the dogs we rescue deserve dignity.

✓ We believe we are their home until their forever home comes.

✓ We believe we owe them every single line item on every single invoice.

Is it hard? 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐬, 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝. But the question was never whether we can do it. The question is: 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭?

We can’t keep dousing ourselves in accelerant and watching everything we’ve built burn down around us. The food. The treats. The vet bills. The cost of literally everything. There are no backup funds. There are no grants for routine vet care.

To everyone who has ever loved a dog, who has ever looked into a pair of soulful eyes and felt something shift inside you — we at Luna Siberian Husky Rescue are asking you, with every ounce of hope we have left, to please consider opening your home to one of our beautiful, long-waiting souls. We sit with a quiet ache as we watch season after season pass, weeks turning into months and months turning into years, while some of our dogs continue to wait for the one thing every dog deserves but so few of ours have found: a family to call their own. We find ourselves asking, genuinely and with breaking hearts, why these incredible huskies keep getting overlooked. Is it their age? The stories behind how they came to us? A misunderstanding about what rescue dogs can offer? Because we promise you, the dogs who have been in our care the longest are not broken, not difficult, not lesser — they are simply waiting, patiently and trustingly, for someone to see them. Every single one of our long-term residents has been thoroughly behaviorally assessed, fully medically cared for, vaccinated, evaluated, and loved on daily by people who know them inside and out. We know their quirks, their favorite treats, the way they tilt their head when you say their name, the toys they drag to their beds at night. And we stand behind every one of them, one hundred percent, for the entirety of their lives — you become a part of the Luna family. You can come to us for advice and support and should there be a need for monetary support, we will do the best we can to fundraise and pay the vet directly for medical care (inconsequential circumstances).
