Debbie Chisholm Memorial Foundation In February of 1994, Deputy Sheriff Fred Chisholm and his wife Elaine lost their twelve year old daughter, Debbie, to brain cancer.

Granting Wishes to Catastrophically Ill Children in the Inland EmpireSouthern California's Only Law-Enforcement Based Wish Granting Charity Serving The Inland Empire That same month, the Debbie Chisholm Memorial Foundation was established to grant the wishes of seriously ill children. DCMF is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) charity that originally began for the purpose of granting the wishes of sick chil

dren in the county of Riverside exclusively. DCMF incorporated in July of 1994 and has since raised over $1,000,000 dollars through fundraising events and private donations! The majority of our wish referrals come to us from the Children’s Oncology Ward at Loma Linda University Medical Center. However, we do receive some referrals from members of various communities. To date we have granted over 360 wishes which have included trips to Europe, Hawaii and Disneyworld, personal computers, Toys-R-Us shopping sprees and meeting N-Sync! We grant wishes at a moments notice and at any given time we may have multiple wishes in progress. All immediate family members are included in the child’s wish and DCMF funds all expenses.

DCMF and SBSO were at Loma Linda tonight, not a ton of pictures but every single kid on the pediatric cancer unit was blessed with their hearts desire. (iPhones, MAC computer and switches were a few of the favorites) We had kids (and parents) that cried tears of joy, JOY when battling something so horrible! Thank you SBSO, LLUCH, our DCMF volunteers and donors for your support, YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE in the lives of these kids with kindness!

Mary Parks THANK YOU for coming out and telling our DCMF story!

Thank you to all our donors and partners who make these events possible.

Thank you Riverside Sheriff Department Chief Deputy Evans, Deputy Ryan Huizinga and San Bernardino County Sheriff Department Deputy Kennedy for helping with the visit. These kiddos really do love seeing uniformed deputies!

DCMF was honored to be a part of "Deputy for the Day" for Javier JJ Luna. JJ is battling leukemia. We met JJ at Loma Linda during the
"Cops fly in Event". After the event technically, while we visited many children that day after we left we received a call. There was a boy who missed the deputies visit (he was in a procedure). This sweet boy was crying holding a patch wanting to meet deputies.

That is JJ's dream to meet and become a policeman when he gets old enough. After hearing that JJ was upset RSO deputies returned to the hospital to meet JJ. During the visit the RSO deputies assured JJ when he was out of the hospital they would take him on a tour and let him see the inter working of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. He was so excited and said "Do you promise? Cops don't lie.." Every deputy assured him he could come, to continue to fight his cancer and they would see him at the station soon.

RSO did not disappoint, they held wonderful demonstrations. JJ later said his favorite part was the mock arrest with the gang team , sitting on the police motorcycle learning about what the traffic team does and taking a tour but really could not choose a favorite. JJ asked tons of questions and at the end of the day thanked every deputy he saw for their service. He will be welcomed at RSO when he is ready to pursue his dream and join the department, Thank you Sheriff Stan Sniff, Palm Desert Station Commander T***s, Chief Raya and every member of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department that helped make this little boy's day! JJ smiled so brightly, we are sure he out shined the sun!

JJ's mock arrest video and various photos of the day.

Watch KESQ and KMIR tonight for more of JJ's story.

Board President Theron Reed and Director Kylleen Coogan accepted on behalf of the Debbie Chisholm Memorial Foundation 17,752.87 dollars from San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Basic Academy Class 203 at their graduation ceremony last night.. Through tireless fundraising over 20+ weeks in the basic academy these new deputies/police officers were able to present DCMF our largest one time donation in our 24 year history.

This fundraising effort by class 203 will help many critically ill children of the Inland Empire. We can never express our gratitude for all of your hard work on DCMF's behalf during your grueling academy period. Well done class 203, congratulations on your graduation and we look forward to having you in our team!
