🐾❤️ Meet Smokey and… wait for it… CHARLIE! 🥹

These two sweet senior boys have had their entire world turned upside down. 💔

Their owner suffered a medical emergency, an officer with Lisbon Police Department reached out asking if we could help. 🚔

The answer was "we're on our way" 🚗

Their owner is a senior herself, just lost her own mother in September, and from what we understand, these two boys are her entire world.

So, they're safe at "Aunt" Sarah's house, being cared for and loved. They both are scheduled to see the vet next week!

🐾 Smokey is overweight, drinking excessive amounts of water, and needs grooming.

🐾 Charlie has an eye condition that needs veterinary attention and also would benefit from a grooming.

Despite everything, both boys are incredibly sweet, gentle, and clearly have known nothing but love.

We made their momma a promise. ❤️

We aren't taking her cats away. We're going to care for them, get them vet care and hopefully have them waiting for her when she comes home. Sarah even calls the hospital daily with updates for her, so she knows they are ok🥹

If she cannot return home, we'll make sure they have a safe, loving future.

This is what rescue is about. Not every animal needs a new home. Sometimes their owner just needs a helping hand.

We've had countless vet bills lately, including two emergency visits, and we desperately need help covering these boys' care.

❤️ Please consider donating, even $5 makes a difference.

📍 City of Salem, OH
JERICHO IS HOME after THREE WEEKS on the run! 🥹🐾

Jericho and us have history, before Compassionate Paws was Compassionate Paws😂

Back in March 2025, within FIVE MINUTES of going home with his new momma Nancy, he pushed open a door and bolted. Paul and I responded with Warbuck’s Drone Services at no cost and quickly learned Jericho is secretly a track star AND a ninja.

We eventually got extremely lucky to corner him, while in a field during a literal microburst. 🤣 ( Ragan Pryjma checked the radar from that day lol) we almost lost a drone, but the 30T held its own! Paul was panicking 🤣🤣

Fast-forward to September 2026. Jericho was outside on a leash attached to Nancy's chair and she got up slightly for a split second and something spooked him. He took off, leash AND chair attached. 😳

Once Compassionate Paws got involved, we flew the drone, followed sightings, placed cellular trail cameras and searched, but Jericho seemingly vanished.

Our biggest fear was that he was tangled somewhere in the woods.

Then he suddenly reappeared and after THREE WEEKS, we finally got the call that Jericho had been caught! ❤️

The hero? A sweet little dog whose friendly nature helped Jericho trust the humans nearby enough for them to secure him. 🥹

Sarah picked him up, checked him over, and somehow this little fugitive was perfectly fine just a couple pounds lighter. Which, between us, Nancy feeds him pretty well anyway. 🫣🤣

Jericho is HOME and now sporting a fancy Fi collar, and you better believe Sarah is getting an alert if this ninja leaves his safety zone again. 😂
Welcome home, Jericho! ❤️🐾

We're so glad you're part of the Compassionate Paws family.

Please… no third adventure. 🤣

Austintown, OH. 💗P is home!💗

P slipped out on September 8. Her family searched the neighborhood, posted signs and set traps, but as the days passed, they started to lose hope. Her dad, Zac, was especially worried.

A family friend asked The MLO Bros if I knew what drone company to call. Luke Schuster, as if Sarah wasn’t the obvious answer. 🤣

This time, we didn’t need a drone. We set up cellular trail cameras and watched P return to eat almost every night, along with a few stray cats, raccoons and one possum who was always right on time for dinner. Once P was comfortable going all the way into the trap while it was propped open, the family set it the following night. P was the first visitor, and she went right in!

Her family trusted the process and did everything we asked. We’re so happy P is safe at home. Welcome to the Compassionate Paws family! ❤️

A gentle reminder: We can’t take every case, even though we wish we could. Some rescues take hours; others take weeks or months. This summer, most of the fieldwork has fallen to Sarah, with Paul helping when he can and cheering her on from the phone. If we’re unable to help, please know it’s never because we don’t care. We’re doing our best for every animal we can reach.

Be kind, and happy Sunday!

Consider a small donation to help us keep pur cellular trail cameras service going. It comes out to about 25 a month per device. We hope to purchase a whole year of service for each device next month as we use all 4 cameras almost daily. ❤️
