Our GEMS team traded in their Monday night attire and got dressed up for an extra special evening! We were thankful to support our partnership with GEMS Girls' Clubs at their annual fundraising dinner and enjoy a night together.

These ladies bring so much love, faith, and fun to our girls each week. What a joy to celebrate the ministry we get to be part of and the shared mission of helping girls know Jesus and grow in His love!

Introducing GEMS Lunch & Learns!

GEMS Leaders, we know you’re constantly pouring into your girls, and we want to keep pouring into you, too.

That’s why we’re launching GEMS Lunch & Learns, a monthly opportunity to gather virtually, learn together, and walk away with practical encouragement and ideas you can use in your GEMS ministry.

Each month, we’ll bring in a speaker to explore a topic that matters to you as you lead, mentor, and disciple today’s girls.

And we’re kicking things off with a conversation we think is especially important:

Creating Safe Places: Leading with Love, Not Fear
with Sandra Tolsma, President of Anna’s Circle

For many girls and their grown-ups, GEMS may be one of their first meaningful connections with a church or Christian community. Sandra will help us think about how we can connect with unchurched GEMS Grown-Ups and create spaces where families feel genuinely seen, welcomed, and loved.
Sandra brings more than 30 years of ministry experience and currently leads Anna’s Circle, where she equips women to share the Gospel through authentic relationships.

Please join us in welcoming Kim Hofstra as GEMS’ new Program Director!

Kim is certainly not new to GEMS. For 36 years, she has been part of this ministry in many different ways - as a GEMS girl, Club Coordinator, Area Coordinator, ReFresh and workshop speaker, and GEMS Conference Chairperson. And, as this throwback photo reminds us, she has been cheering on GEMS girls for a long time!

In her new role, Kim will help bring together the many ways we equip and encourage our clubs and leaders: from curriculum and training to club engagement, leader development, and new opportunities for healthy growth.
Kim officially joins our staff today, and we couldn’t be more excited to have someone with such a deep love for Jesus, girls, and GEMS leaders stepping into this role.

GEMS of Wisdom: Learn Their Names!

One of the simplest ways to help a girl feel like she belongs? Know her name.

Learning girls’ names quickly, saying them often, and looking them in the eye communicates something important:
I see you. I know you. You belong here.

In today’s GEMS of Wisdom, Bethany shares a few simple ways to learn names faster, from playing name games to intentionally praying for each girl by name.
It’s a small thing that can make a big difference as you build relationships with the girls God has placed in your Club.
