We're headed to the Great Lake Unity Conference this Thursday and Friday, October 15–16!

We're excited to connect with educators who share our passion for helping students of all abilities thrive!

We're on the road a lot this month! October is conference month, and All Belong is presenting or exhibiting at several education conferences this year. Last week, Lisa and Jenna were at the Heartland Christian Educators' Conference in Iowa. Today, Betsy and Marji are in Texas at the CESA Symposium, and next week we'll be right here in Grand Rapids for the Great Lakes Unity Conference. We're still smiling about Monday night's Circle of Friends Dinner!

More than 450 people came together for an incredible evening of celebration, connection, and generosity in support of Christ-centered inclusive education. What a joy to see so many people gathered around a vision we care so deeply about!

Early in the evening, we shared a simple reminder: Just like a puzzle, our communities aren't complete when someone is missing. Every person brings unique gifts, and we all have something to contribute. Monday night was a wonderful example of what happens when people come together with a shared purpose.

To everyone who joined us, gave generously, and continues to support this work, thank you! We're grateful to have you alongside us as we build communities where every student is known, needed, and experiences belonging.

We’re still buzzing from the energy of last night’s Circle of Friends Dinner!

More than 450 people came together to support Christ-centered inclusive education, and they supported this work in a big way.

One of the moments we were especially grateful to share was “It Takes All of Us.”

The video offers a glimpse into what inclusive education really requires. Teachers, families, school leaders, specialists, and All Belong staff listen to one another, share what they know, try new approaches, and keep learning together so students can be known more excellently.

There is no single formula for inclusion. No one person has the whole picture. It takes collaboration, curiosity, and a willingness to keep asking, “What does this student need to participate, contribute, and grow?”

And maybe that is part of the bigger shift: seeing inclusion not as one person’s job or a service for a few students, but as the work of a whole community. Each of us has a role in creating Christ-centered schools where every student with a disability is known, needed, and experiences belonging.

It takes all of us.

Who benefits when students learn, worship, and build relationships together?

At Nolan’s high school, peers serve as sidekicks in his classes and join him in a discipleship group. Along the way, they are learning to notice another person, make space, communicate in different ways, offer support, and become a community together.

And Nolan brings his own gifts to that community, including the peace, patience, and joy his family and school know so well.

This is the mutuality at the heart of belonging. We are not simply making room for one another; we are discovering how much we need one another.

New school. New routines. New people. And a community learning to know one another well.

Nolan recently completed his freshman year of high school. He is joyful, patient, hardworking, and eager to be with people. Over the year, belonging has shown up in simple, meaningful moments: classmates greeting him at football games, peers supporting him in class, and Nolan joining others in choir concerts.

His story is also a reminder that inclusion is not a one-time program. It grows through relationships, thoughtful support, and a community committed to seeing each person as an image-bearer of God.

Last week, we had the joy of being part of the Key Ministry Conference!

More than 60 participants joined us for an all-day session, bringing thoughtful questions, meaningful conversation, and a real desire to grow in building communities of belonging.

We’re grateful for the time we shared and look forward to seeing how these conversations continue to shape the work participants are doing in their own communities.
