Worthington Garden Park on Washington St was established by the Worthington Garden Club at the historic Williams House location in 2001. Many private, corporate donations, and fund raisers helped to build the park to what it is today. The building of the Park is a great source of pride for the Club, and community.
This year has been filled with frustration as we witness mischief destruction of infrastructure, the plants, and overall peacefulness of the Park.
We ask those who visit the Park to please be respectful of the property.
Children should be supervised and taught to “do no harm, leave no trash”.
We can list rules but it is mostly about respect and common sense.

No one should be climbing or swinging on the trees. The trees are young and still very prone to breakage.

The flowers and shrubs are there to enhance the beauty and should not be picked or stems be broken off. There should be no one in the landscape beds.

If you visit the Park with your animals you are responsible to pick up after your animal. Do not leave f***s in the Park.

Leave no trace means you visit, and when you leave the next visitors can enjoy the beauty without trash left behind by someone.

Parent supervision is constantly necessary. If your child is in the Park you should be also with a watchful eye. Take the opportunity to teach them respect, community awareness, and responsibility.

The pictures attached today is what was found this morning. It is an every day occurrence and should not be. Supervision is necessary.

Got a puddle-prone yard? Turn it into a beautiful, low-maintenance habitat for bees, butterflies and birds — while cutting flood risk and keeping pollution out of local waterways. Some cities and states even offer rebates to help cover the cost.

Dragonfly larvae spend a year or two underwater before you ever see the adult. They hunt mosquito larvae and other small aquatic animals and insects the whole time.

Adults are among the most successful predators measured anywhere, catching prey in flight at rates that leave lions and sharks well behind.

The catch: they need standing water to breed, and so do mosquitoes. A real pond with depth, plants, and predators favors dragonflies. A bucket of stale water only favors mosquitoes.
