REMINDER: if you are a current GWPCA member and did not receive a ballot in the mail, please notify this page via FB message or, email [email protected] immediately with subject line "Ballot."

Ballots were in the mail, per our bylaws, prior to 10/1 and should have arrived to everyone by now. If you don't have one but are a current member, notify me ASAP please so we can get that resolved before the deadline. It's important to me that every member has the opportunity to vote.

Return postmark deadline for ballots (to our independent ballot counter) is 11/15.

Also of note: 2027 membership application & information, including opting in to print copies of future editions of the Wire~News, coming soon. Thank you for your patience while I revamp the membership application process to make things smoother on both your end and mine.

ELECTION VOTING CORRECTION

Ballots for the current election session are hitting mailboxes. I have been alerted to an error on the ballot and would like to state a correction for the judge selection section.

The 2027 national events will be in Michigan
**The 2027 judges are already selected.** Be sure to vote for the BOLD heading year on your ballot

The 2028 national events will be out West (likely Oregon or Washington)

The 2029 national events TBD - likely Nebraska

This includes:
National & Regional Specialty shows and events (Futurity, Maturity, 4-6mo puppy, etc.)
Cornhusker KC All Breed Shows
NOHS Regional Event
Obedience & Rally Trials
All Star Invitational & Future Stars Showcase
GWPCA Field Trial & Championship
GWPCA Hunt Tests (Entries close at 6pm CST for this event)
Meal reservations, etc.

Don't forget to plan to attend the Annual Meeting on Friday, October 2nd.

‼️ The GWPCA Election and other important Voting Items are upcoming. The balloting process per our bylaws occurs via mail with independent ballot tallying. It is VERY IMPORTANT that member addresses are up-to-date with the Secretary.

IF YOU HAVE MOVED since renewing/applying for your GWPCA membership, please notify the secretary before 09/10/2026 at [email protected]. Ballots will be mailed prior to 10/01/2026 per the bylaws.

GWPCA Members,

After a rough spring and summer with no publications, the Board of Directors has been carefully considering its options regarding the future of the Wire~News. This publication is one of the GWPCA's biggest lifelines to its members, and the BOD feels it is essential to assure publication will be timely and predictable in the future. The production of the Wire~News is a large undertaking and while the BOD appreciates the volunteers who have previously and continue to work on the publication, the time investment is staggering. Additionally, the movement into the digital age, along with the rapidly rising costs of printing and distribution of the Wire~News, has led the BOD to consider some changes.

After carefully considering the practicality of continuing to distribute a print Wire~News, alternatives, long-term financial impact of all options, and the volunteer time requirements for producing the print Wire~News, the BOD has voted to move the Wire~News to a digital-first publication effective immediately.

The BOD has voted to contract an experienced professional to be the hub for all things Wire~News, streamlining the process and ensuring it will be more consistent for members going forward.

********We are excited about this change, and though we are currently focusing on getting a Wire~News out ASAP, as we finish out 2026, we are also planning an option to opt-into receiving a hard (print) copy of this publication for those who wish to receive one, as we look forward into 2027. **********
