SALEM, Ore. — The Executive Boards of Oregon State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Oregon State FOP Labor Coalition today announced their endorsement of Senator Christine Drazan for Governor of Oregon, citing her commitment to public safety, law enforcement professionals, crime victims, and accountable government.
“Oregon needs a governor who understands that safe communities require strong public safety agencies and support for the men and women who serve them,” said Chris Bangs, President of the Oregon State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. “Senator Drazan has shown a willingness to listen to front-line law enforcement officers and address the challenges they face every day.”
The organizations cited Drazan’s approach to several issues important to Oregon law enforcement, including recruiting and retaining qualified officers, protecting collective bargaining and due process rights, improving accountability within the criminal justice system, supporting crime victims, and ensuring law enforcement professionals have a meaningful voice in public safety policy.
“Oregon’s law enforcement officers need more than political rhetoric,” President Bangs said. “They need a governor who will work with them on staffing and retention, fair labor practices, officer due process, and policies that make our communities safer. We believe Senator Drazan will provide that leadership.”
The Oregon State FOP and Oregon State FOP Labor Coalition also emphasized the need for continued attention to officer due process, including fairness and transparency in Brady/Giglio-related decisions that can significantly affect an officer’s career and ability to serve.
“Public safety should not be a partisan issue,” President Bangs said. “Our members serve Oregonians across the political spectrum and in communities throughout the state. Senator Drazan understands that law enforcement professionals deserve a seat at the table when decisions affecting public safety and their profession are made.”
For these reasons, the Oregon State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Oregon State FOP Labor Coalition proudly endorse Senator Christine Drazan for Governor in the 2026 general election.
The Oregon State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police represents law enforcement professionals and local FOP lodges throughout Oregon and advocates for effective public safety policies, fair labor practices, officer rights, and the communities its members serve. Together, the Oregon State FOP and Oregon State FOP Labor Coalition represent more than 1,700 members and 69 law enforcement labor groups throughout Oregon.
