⚾️ A Little Perspective on Scheduling... ⚾️
As many of you know, the Baseball Association of Wolcott is run entirely by volunteers who are doing their absolute best to create schedules that work for everyone.
This season, we're coordinating:
🏆 6 Travel Teams
⚾ 3 Majors Teams
⚾ 4 Minors Teams
⚾ 4 Junior Minors Teams
⚾ 3 Rookies Teams
⚾ 5 T-Ball Teams
⚾ 2 Sluggers Teams
That's 27 teams sharing 5 fields, while also working around schedules for 3 elementary schools, 1 middle school, other sports programs, field availability, weather concerns, and family commitments.
Adding to the challenge, several of our dedicated volunteers are coaching multiple teams because there simply weren't enough people willing to step up and help. These coaches are donating countless hours to make sure every child has the opportunity to play baseball.
Will every schedule be perfect? Probably not. But please know that every game, practice, and field assignment is carefully considered with the goal of being as fair and accommodating as possible for all 27 teams.
We ask for a little patience, understanding, and appreciation for the volunteers working behind the scenes. They aren't paid, they aren't professional schedulers, and they're juggling a lot because they care deeply about providing a great experience for our players.
Most importantly, if you've ever thought about volunteering, coaching, helping with scheduling, field maintenance, fundraising, or serving on the board—we'd love to have you. Many hands make light work, and our organization can always use more people willing to help.
💙 Thank you to every coach, board member, team parent, and volunteer who makes BAW possible. We truly couldn't do it without you. ⚾💙
