Our next mentor award! Lou Cypher began his FIRST involvement several years ago as a dedicated FIRST Tech Challenge judge, where he brought dedication, fairness, and genuine care for the students to the judging room. From there he went on to mentor FIRST LEGO League Challenge and eventually FIRST Tech Challenge Teams in Wolcott. Lou brought a new energy to the Wolcott FIRST Tech Challenge program. He strived to make the program impactful for each and every student, and helped one of his teams to advance to the New England Premier Event. Lou is also a member of the Wolott Robotics Foundation Board of Directors where he helps to drive the strategic and financial direction of the programs. Congratulations to Lou Cypher for being a 2026 recipient of the Wolcott Robotics Mentor Award.

Today we’re sharing Mentor Awards!
David Morin is a 2005 alumni of Team MAX 1071, who returned 4 years ago to give back as a mentor. Since then he's made his mark on the team, always willing to share his enthusiasm to create with the students, going above and beyond to contribute to their success.
Beyond being an FRC mentor, David volunteers for FIRST across multiple programs including roles such as FTC judge and FRC field resetter. David has also worked to bridge a connection between Eversource and FIRST, helping to bring in money and volunteers to support the organization at large. We are proud to recognize David Morin as a 2026 Wolcott Robotics Mentor Award recipient.
