Today, we celebrate what would have been Alexandra’s 41st birthday. 💛

Though Alex is no longer with us, her spirit, kindness, and the impact she made continue to live on through the people she touched and the work we do in her honor.

Birthdays are a reminder that a life is not measured only by the years we have, but by the love we give, the lives we touch, and the difference we make along the way.

Today, we celebrate Alex, the legacy she leaves behind, and the reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can create a lasting impact.

Happy 41st birthday, Alex. You are loved, remembered, and celebrated today and always. 🕊️💛

Last month, Alex's Team had the pleasure of sponsoring nurses from Riley Children's Health who were attending the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) National Conference!🩺

We’re proud to share a glimpse into the experiences of two of our 2026 summer interns at Boston Children’s Hospital! 💙

Through Alex’s Team’s nursing internship program, students gain invaluable firsthand experience in pediatric healthcare, learning alongside the dedicated nurses and healthcare professionals on the Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant floor while exploring their own future career paths.

We’re grateful to help inspire and support the next generation of healthcare professionals, creating meaningful opportunities that can shape their futures and the care they’ll one day provide. 🩺

Join us in congratulating Lisa Morrissey, MPH, MSN, RN, NE-BC, recipient of the 2026 SIOP Nursing Leadership Award! 🎉

The International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) presents this award to a member for substantial contributions to pediatric oncology nursing. Lisa accepted the honor at this year's Congress in San Antonio, and she was also named to SIOP's 2026 Almanac of Women Leaders in Paediatric Oncology.

It's easy to see why. Lisa has been a pediatric oncology nurse for more than 40 years, including 17 at the bedside, and today serves as Senior Director of Nursing & Patient Care Services for Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant at Boston Children's Hospital. She directs the B*H Global Nursing Fellowship, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025, chaired the SIOP Nursing Network from 2018 to 2021, and represents nursing on SIOP's Advocacy Committee, supporting nurses caring for children with cancer around the world. She's also pursuing her PhD at UMass Boston, researching how to better identify and address financial hardship for families of children with cancer.

This one is especially close to our hearts. Lisa was one of Alex's nurses, and she has spent her career making sure children with cancer and their families get the expert, compassionate care they deserve. In her words, the vision is simple: no child should die of cancer.

Lisa, thank you for everything you've given to Alex, to our community, and to so many families. We couldn't be prouder. 💛🎗️
