Today, MPhA is proud to celebrate World Pharmacists Day and the pharmacists across Massachusetts who make a difference every day.

Across community pharmacies, hospitals, ambulatory clinics, health systems, industry, academia, long-term care, and countless other settings, pharmacists help improve medication safety, expand access to care, educate patients, and support healthier communities.

The profession continues to evolve, but one thing remains constant: pharmacists are trusted healthcare professionals who bring expertise, accessibility, and compassion to every patient interaction.

To pharmacists across the Commonwealth and around the world, **thank you for everything you do for your patients, your teams, and the profession.**

Happy World Pharmacists Day!

A Pharmacist's Guide to Probiotics for Preventing Traveler's Diarrhea
The management of travel diarrhea includes hydration and antimotility agents like loperamide for mild cases. Moderate to severe cases may necessitate antibiotics such as azithromycin and rifaximin, which can reduce diarrhea duration by 1 to 2 days. However, antibiotic use poses challenges including resistance, adverse effects, and disruption of gut flora, increasing the risk of other infections. https://www.pharmacytimes.com/view/a-pharmacist-s-guide-to-probiotics-for-preventing-traveler-s-diarrhea

Although clinical data clearly demonstrate the benefits, safety, and effectiveness of vaccines, myths, misconceptions, fears, and concerns about adverse effects still reduce vaccination rates. Frontline healthcare providers, such as pharmacists, can use effective patient-education strategies to recognize and use evidence-based data to counter misinformation and overcome obstacles.https://www.mdpi.com/2076-393X/14/2/154
