Midnight parties in the kitten room... Shane and Duke are having a blast. For those who don't know, Shane has severe CH (cerebellar hypoplasia). Duke is about 6 weeks and will be available for adoption when he's big enough. But for now, he's just enjoying spending time with Shane, Ridge and Brick and playing until he falls over and goes to sleep. Duke even snuggles with Shane when its time for bed. Whenever that may be. Lol

If you remember, Obie got adopted a few weeks ago. After a week his adopters decided, through no fault of Obie's, he wasn't working out. I try to be as honest as I can about every cat we adopt out but sometimes it still doesn't work. But Obie's story doesn't end there....

Obie is a cat that has experienced trauma, grief and a whole lot of change. This means Obie is not necessarily going to be social with someone right away. Obie needs time to adjust and time to feel safe and comfortable. And he needs someone who is understanding enough to give him the space and time he needs.

Kerry and Don had decided they were finally ready to adopt another cat after losing their precious boy, Tuna. They came to see Obie yesterday and fell in love. Kerry was so patient with him. She had Obie eating treats in no time! He intently listened to Kerry while she talked and just watched her as she fed churu snacks to the other cats. Obie liked her. He really liked her. Don and Kerry both just loved our gentle giant and can't wait to take him home. They have some things going on so Obie will stay with us for a couple more weeks. Obie's been through a lot and they are so understanding of that. My heart is full today knowing Obie is going to be loved and spoiled again. He deserves it. ❤️

This terrified girl is Jingle Bells. Karl picked her up yesterday. Jingle Bells is 17 years old. She had lived all 17 years in the same condo with her owner. She loved her owner so much. And he passed away. His family lives out of state. His condo is being sold. Jingle Bells had nowhere to go. She is confused, scared and grieving. So we stepped in.

Welcome to the Misfit Ranch at JOCR, Jingle Bells. We are hoping with a lot of love, patience, reassuring and compassion, we can help ease the pain of losing your dad, your home and everything you have ever known.

Daphne...

Today was a very special adoption. Daphne was adopted by the sweet family that adopted Clairise.......

If you remember, Clairise was the gorgeous long haired tortie who's mother is Rudy. Well several weeks back, Clairise's mom contacted me because Clairise was diagnosed with FIP. Sandi ordered the medication right away and started treatment. In spite of her efforts, Clairise did not make it. She passed away at home surrounded by her family. I have cried and cried with this family. They loved Clairise so much and were absolutely devastated losing her. I felt horrible for this family. After a couple of weeks, Sandi reached back out and told me their house felt empty without Clairise and they wanted to adopt another kitten, specifically from us. She told me what her family was looking for and she told me they would wait until the right one came along. And along came Daphne. I sent pics and her personality traits and Daphne was the kitten for them. We had Daphne vetted this week and they picked her up today. They told me they had so much love left to give they wanted to share it with another kitten. With lots of hugs and happy tears in their eyes, they headed out with Daphne. Daphne has a big job now. To help them continue to heal. And I'm sure she is going to do just that.
