Families joined The Alliance for Early Childhood, the Winnetka Park District, and the Chicago Botanic Garden Nature Preschool for a day of building, imagining, and playing together. Using simple, natural materials, children worked with their family and friends to create small and large forts, gathering spaces, and imaginative hideouts. This hands-on experience encouraged children to collaborate, explore the outdoors, and help shape a playful community space that’s uniquely their own

A Special Book Launch Event with Dr. Louisa Penfold 30-Minute Virtual Lunch & Learn on Thursday, October 15th at 12:00PM to 12:30PM CDT. (Link in Bio)

Every child is born with the capacity to create. Join Dr. Louisa Penfold, Harvard Graduate School of Education arts educator and author of the newly released Every Child Is an Artist, for an inspiring lunchtime conversation about nurturing creativity in young children.

Drawing from her new book, Dr. Penfold will share how simple, everyday materials can become powerful invitations for exploration, imagination, and artistic
expression. You'll discover practical, play-based ideas inspired by contemporary artists that encourage children to think creatively, engage their senses, and
see the world in new ways. Whether you're an educator looking to enrich your
classroom or a parent seeking fresh ideas for creative experiences at home, you'll leave inspired to cultivate children's natural curiosity through open-ended art
and play.
