On June 12, 2016, our community changed forever. Today marks ten years since the tragedy at Pulse nightclub in Orlando. We pause to honor the 49 beautiful lives taken and hold space for the survivors who carry that grief daily.

Music remains a powerful source of healing for us. The Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida raises our voices to create safe spaces for everyone to live authentically. Our songs celebrate the undeniable resilience of the LGBTQ+ community here in South Florida and across the globe.

To honor this ten-year milestone, join us next Friday, June 19, at 8:00 p.m. at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts for our Pride concert, Invincible. Multi-generational voices will unite on stage—including guest singers from Orlando, Miami, and Tampa Bay—for the world premiere of Saunder Choi’s Amor Eterno: A Requiem For Pulse. The evening will culminate in a joyous celebration of community strength with uplifting anthems like "Roar" and "Stand Up." Get your tickets at gmcsf.org/concerts and stand with us. Love will always win.

We are sad to announce that Rob Young, a dear member of our GMCSF family, passed away last week. He was a sincere, kind, and caring person who brought his beautiful rich bass voice to our music. Rob will be forever in our hearts.

Florida policy will strip local governments from supporting and the ability to meet the needs of their citizens as state policies on funding go into effect.

Historic institutions like Stonewall National Museum, Archives, & Library, Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida, theater companies, ethnic arts and cultural organizations and more will be prohibited from receiving funds from their respective county and city cultural offices.

This is millions of your dollars being eliminated from our communities in a political fight for the soul of the state. The governor will sell out the people at every opportunity to make himself look like a tax cutting champion for a national office. His cruelty and vengefulness knows no limits.

Pay attention, your life and the lives of those you care about really depends on it.
