From a working-class childhood in New York to the front lines of community peace-building in Seaford, Beth Kopicki’s life has been defined by what she calls relentless hope.

Beth’s journey began in the classroom, where she taught in newly integrated schools in New Orleans and witnessed firsthand the impacts of segregation and poverty.

After an extensive career in education, Beth turned her passion for teaching into a mission for community peace.

Today, she leads Nonviolent Seaford, working to address the triple evils of poverty, racism, and violence.

By partnering with organizations like Network Delaware, she is building a culture of active nonviolence and trust right here in our community.

As a lifelong learner, Beth is currently preparing for a tour of the South to visit Civil Rights movement sites. Her story is a powerful reminder that we never stop growing and learning.

Thank you for all you do for the Network Community Beth!

Stay tuned for her Story!

⭐️ Membership Spotlight Monday! ⭐️

From social worker to nonprofit operations expert, Krista Bacchieri is a true change agent for Delaware!

With a Master’s in Macro Social Work, she now empowers organizations through her specialized operations support business. We are thrilled to have her as a dedicated Network Delaware volunteer, where she aligns her passion for systemic change with our core mission.

Krista is a firm believer in the power of mentoring to spark both personal and organizational growth. By building authentic relationships, she helps bridge the gap between resources and meaningful community causes.

Join us in celebrating Krista!

Stay tuned for an extra Spotlight on Krista later this week!

Late last month Network Delaware was honored to stand in solidarity with our partners at the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice (SDARJ) for their powerful "A Century of Black History Commemorations" event at Epworth United Methodist Church.

Our Black Organizer Coordinator, KJ, and Sussex County Organizer, Jasmine, were on the ground soaking in the brilliance of our community.

From the soul-stirring words of Delaware’s Poet Laureates, the Twin Poets, to the high-energy gospel of the Friendship Baptist Church Praise Choir, the energy in the room was a reminder that Black history isn't just a month, it’s a movement!

We were especially moved by performance artist RogJenéa Fisher, who reminded us: "My generation is out of breath... we aren't running anymore. We will walk, because you only run when you're scared."

A huge shoutout to our amazing volunteers, Obed and Rayanna! They spent their evening capturing the magic through video and photos. We couldn't do this work without our village!

Ready to turn inspiration into action?

This spring, we are hosting our Ella J. Baker Black Organizer Training. Named after the "Godmother of the Civil Rights Movement," this training is designed for those ready to build power, develop leadership, and create lasting impact in Delaware.

Don’t just watch history, help write it.

She is a Kent County native who first got connected with the Delaware Call when she was a student at UD. During her time with the call she reported a story on black farmers in Kent and Sussex that went on to win a Delaware press award.

She pursued higher education Columbia Graduate Journalism school and was able to secure an internship at the Texas Tribune.

Following that she came home to Delaware and began working on more stories around the state covering issues like police reform and issues with prisons. She is now a full-time reporter with Bay to Bay news.

Network Delaware wants to congratulate and wish you good luck in your new role!
