Fred Sauro Scholarship

08/28/2026

WE PULLED IT OFF. ❤️💛⛳

The inaugural Fred Sauro Classic is officially in the books — and thanks to an incredible group of golfers, Frye Dental Group and DaVinci's Restaurant, all our hole sponsors, volunteers, businesses, friends, families, coaches, and supporters, we raised nearly $6,000 for the Fred Sauro Scholarship.

A full field.
A whole lot of laughs.
A few questionable golf decisions.
And one amazing day honoring Coach Fred’s legacy.

This event was never just about golf.

It was about celebrating the impact one coach can have on generations of young athletes — and making sure that impact continues by helping future female student-athletes pursue their education.

To every person who played, sponsored a hole, donated a prize, bought into a side game, volunteered, shared a post, recruited a team, or simply showed up and supported us:

THANK YOU.

You made the first Fred Sauro Classic something we are incredibly proud of.

And judging by the amount of fun everyone had…

I think we may have accidentally started a tradition. 😏🍻

See you next year!

🚨 THE FIELD IS FULL 🚨

And just like that… all team spots for the inaugural Fred Sauro Classic are officially SOLD OUT. ⛳️🔥

What started as an idea to honor Coach Fred and support future female student-athletes has turned into a full field of local businesses, coaches, alumni, friends, families, and a few crews who may or may not be here primarily for the b**r. 😂🍻

We are incredibly grateful to every team that signed up, every sponsor who stepped up, and everyone who shared, tagged, recruited, donated, or helped spread the word.

This community SHOWED UP. ❤️💛

Now all that’s left to do is play some golf, make some questionable decisions, raise some money, and have one hell of a day.

See you on the course. 😈⛳️

🏌️ TEAM SPOTLIGHT 🏌️

Please welcome Team Wi***es to the Fred Sauro Classic! ⛳️😂

A group of Williamstown dads, a questionable team name, and what we can only assume is entirely too much confidence heading into tournament day.

Honestly, no notes.

We love seeing local families and friends jump in to support the Fred Sauro Scholarship — even if some of them apparently spent more time naming the team than working on their short game. 😏

Welcome to the field, Team Wi***es!

We can’t wait to see whether the name is the funniest thing they bring to the course.

🏌️ TEAM SPOTLIGHT 🏌️

Please welcome Team Party Crowd to the Fred Sauro Classic! 🍻⛳️

A group of locals who, from what we’ve been told, absolutely intend to live up to the name.

So while some teams are coming for the trophy, Team Party Crowd may be coming for the beverage cart, the side games, and whatever questionable decisions happen in between. 😏😂

Either way, we’re thrilled to have them joining the field and supporting the Fred Sauro Scholarship.

Welcome to the tournament, Party Crowd — we have a feeling you’re going to fit in just fine.

We could use 1-2 more volunteers at this Friday’s scramble! Please message if you’re interested!

🏌️ TEAM SPOTLIGHT 🏌️

Another familiar face is joining the field! 👀

Please welcome Team Smith, captained by former Williamstown High School Varsity Football Head Coach Coach Smith! 🏈⛳️

Coach Smith spent plenty of years drawing up plays, making halftime adjustments, and leading Yellowjackets under the Friday night lights…

Now we get to see how that strategy translates when the playbook is a scorecard and the defense is trees, bunkers, and several questionable decisions. 😂

We love seeing longtime Williamstown coaches continuing to show up for our student-athletes, and we’re grateful to Coach Smith and his team for supporting the Fred Sauro Scholarship.

Welcome to the field, Team Smith! ❤️💛

🏌️ TEAM SPOTLIGHT 🏌️

Another cannabis crew has officially joined the field. 🌿⛳

Please welcome Team Fore20 from Standard Farms to the Fred Sauro Classic!

With a name like Fore20, they’ve already set expectations appropriately low and vibes appropriately high. 😂

We’re grateful to have Standard Farms stepping up to support the Fred Sauro Scholarship and help create opportunities for future student-athletes.

And with yet another cannabis team in the mix, that unofficial industry rivalry is getting a little more interesting… 👀🌿🏆

Welcome to the field, Fore20!

🏌️ TEAM SPOTLIGHT 🏌️

Please welcome Team Pathfinder Land Surveying to the Fred Sauro Classic! ⛳️

And leading the crew is someone who knows a thing or two about developing the next generation of Yellowjackets — Williamstown Middle School Girls Basketball Coach Payton Bunch! 🏀❤️💛

We love seeing our local coaches show up for one another and support opportunities for female student-athletes both on and off the court.

Of course, being a basketball coach doesn’t necessarily mean he can read a green… so we’ll reserve judgment on Team Pathfinder’s actual golf abilities until tournament day. 😏😂

A huge thank you to Pathfinder Land Surveying for joining the field and supporting the Fred Sauro Scholarship!

🚨 CONSIDER THIS YOUR WARNING 🚨

We’ve spent the last few days showing you just a little of what we have planned for the Fred Sauro Classic.

And we haven’t shown you everything. 😏

You can expect:

⛳ Golf
💰 Side bets
🎡 Bad decisions
🎁 Prizes
😂 Absolute nonsense
🍻 And the kind of stories that probably shouldn’t leave the Country Club

All while raising money for the Fred Sauro Scholarship and supporting future female student-athletes. ❤️

We still have room for a few more foursomes before we call the field full.

Grab three people you enjoy spending a day drinking and making poor golf decisions with and come join us.

📢 FAIR WARNING: THE HECKLERS ARE COMING 📢

At most golf outings, everyone politely waits while you tee off.

We will not be doing that. 😂

One hole at the INAUGURAL FRED SAURO GOLF CLASSIC has been designated:

HECKLER’S GONNA HECKLE

There will be commentary. There will be unsolicited swing analysis.

There may be questions about your choice of club, your athletic ability, and several of the decisions that brought you to this point in your life.

And no — paying us will not make them stop... oh, who we kidding? We can definitely be bought. 😈⛳️
