In 2020, The Fund for Williamstown has awarded a total of $14,000 to nonprofit organizations and individuals to support innovative projects that will enhance the quality of life for residents of Williamstown, Mass.
The fund awarded grant money for the following programs:
Berkshire Lantern Walk: to host online lantern-making workshops and an autumn ramble through an illuminated sculpture garden on the grounds of the Clark Art Institute.
COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund for Berkshire County: to deploy resources to nonprofit organizations working with communities disproportionately impacted by the coronavirus and the economic consequences of this outbreak.
Elder Services of Berkshire County: to deliver meals to seniors.
Images Cinema: to present a film series that celebrates the impact of independent Black cinema on contemporary American culture.
Isabelle Holmes: to perform “Unsilent Night” by Phil Kline as a street promenade in December.
Roots Teen Center: to host workshops for youth on health, nutrition, artistic expression, technology and well-being.
South Williamstown Community Association: to develop a walking tour and map of northern Berkshire sites connected with the suffrage campaign and notable women.
WilliNet: to create a series of free video production workshops for northern Berkshire County youth.
The DeMayo Bright Futures Innovations Award 2020 has been awarded to WilliNet, a local access television station, for its exceptional commitment to Williamstown by being rapid, creative and innovative in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. WilliNet's ability to shift platforms, add programming and provide guidance in technology has helped keep everyone informed and safe in a very challenging time. Executive Director Debby Dane was thrilled to accept the award on behalf of Willinet, and said “WilliNet is humbled and honored to receive this award. Thank you Fund for Williamstown and BTF!.”
