Dads, a little planning can go a long way toward making Halloween fun for everyone! 🎃

Before heading out, talk with your kids about the plan for the night. Make sure masks don't block their vision and costumes aren't so long that they trip. Stick to familiar, well-lit streets, use crosswalks, and remind kids to look both ways and wait for you before crossing.

It's also a good idea to choose a meeting spot in case you get separated and make sure your kids know which trusted adults they can turn to for help.

And remember, the best part of Halloween is making memories together. Have fun out there! ❤️🧡

Beyond the usual Band-Aids, make sure your family first aid kit has a digital thermometer, a medicine dosing syringe, sterile saline, an instant cold pack, tweezers, and emergency contact information. A few extra supplies can make a big difference when your little one gets sick or hurt. ❤️🧡

A few more things to remember:
- Check expiration dates and restock supplies as needed.
- Keep medications locked away and out of children's reach.
- Know when an injury needs more than first aid. Save your pediatrician's number and learn when to seek emergency care.
- For babies and young children, medication choice and dosage depend on age, weight, and the specific product.

School bus safety is all about the little things. Keep your kids safe this fall with these tips:

🚌 Get to the bus stop a few minutes early so kids aren't rushing or running near the street.

👋 Walk with younger kids and wait with them until the bus arrives.

↔️ Teach kids to stay several steps back from the curb while waiting.

🛑 Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before getting on or off.

👀 If they need to cross the street, teach kids to cross in front of the bus, look left, right, then left again, and make sure the driver can see them.

🎒 Make sure backpacks, drawstrings, and loose straps won't get caught when getting on or off.

🚗 And if you're behind the wheel, slow down around bus stops and always stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing.

🍂 Giving your child an age-appropriate “job” can help them feel important and needed while building confidence and practicing social and motor skills. It can be as simple as wiping down the table, helping sweep the floor, making their own snack, folding laundry, or setting the table for dinner.

And as older siblings head back to school, younger kids might start looking for their own way to feel involved, too.

The “job” doesn’t even have to be a household chore. Kids who look up to older siblings and parents might love having a little “office” of their own, where they can write letters, have pretend meetings with a toy phone, or type play emails on an old keyboard.

The point isn’t getting the job done perfectly. It’s giving kids a chance to contribute, practice new skills, and feel like they have an important role in the family. 🧡

As your child grows, their car seat needs to change too. The right seat should fit your child properly, be appropriate for their size, and be installed correctly. 🚗

Always follow your car seat and vehicle manufacturer’s instructions, and wait until your child fully outgrows their current seat before moving to the next stage. 🧡❤️
