Planning is officially underway for the 2027 Rotary District 7545 Conference! 💙💛

Our District Conference Planning Committee met today at Stonewall Resort to kick off preparations for what is sure to be an incredible weekend of Rotary fellowship, learning, service, and fun.

There’s a lot more to come, but for now, get those calendars out and SAVE THE DATES:

🌟 District Grant Highlight Wednesday 🌟

The Moundsville Rotary Club is proudly honoring local heroes through its impactful Flags for Heroes program.

Supported through a Rotary District Grant, this meaningful initiative recognizes veterans, active military members, first responders, and community heroes who have made a difference in the lives of others. Throughout the year, Rotary volunteers work together to install and remove 100 American flags during patriotic holidays, creating a powerful visual tribute that inspires pride, gratitude, and community connection.

More than a display of flags, this project serves as a visible reminder of the sacrifices and contributions made by those who serve our communities and our country. It brings residents together to celebrate local heroes while promoting Rotary's commitment to service and civic engagement.

The Rotary Club of Moundsville continues to make a lasting impact by fostering community pride and honoring those whose dedication helps strengthen the Ohio Valley.

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Moundsville and its volunteers for bringing this inspiring project to life and for demonstrating what it means to be People of Action. 💙💛

🔔✨ THE GOLDEN GAVEL JOURNEY HAS BEGUN! ✨🔔

A special Rotary District 7545 tradition is officially on the move!

The Golden Gavel begins its journey with District Governor Julie Sawyer’s home club, the Rotary Club of Fairmont, WV. From there, the gavel is passed along as clubs visit one another throughout District 7545, traveling from club to club and encouraging fellowship, connection, and a little friendly Rotary fun along the way! 💙💛

Today, President Jeff Merrifield of the Rotary Club of Fairmont officially kicked off this year’s journey by presenting the Golden Gavel to President Lisa Pitrolo of the Rotary Club of Cheat Lake!

Now the question is… where will Cheat Lake take it next? 👀

We can’t wait to follow the Golden Gavel across West Virginia and see how many District 7545 clubs it visits this Rotary year!

🔹 Meet the Club President Monday 🔹

This week, we're excited to introduce Lisa Pitrolo, current President of the Rotary Club of Cheat Lake.

Raised in Parkersburg and now residing in Morgantown, Lisa joined the Rotary Club of Cheat Lake in 2023 and has served on the club's Board since 2024. Professionally, she is the Home Infusion Pharmacy Manager at WVUH Specialty and Home Infusion Pharmacy.

Lisa earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the WVU School of Pharmacy and completed two postgraduate residencies at WVU Hospitals specializing in Infectious Diseases. Following her residency training, she moved to Yuma, Arizona, where she served as an Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Pharmacist before returning to West Virginia in 2012. Since then, she has held several key leadership roles within WVU Medicine, including Pharmacy Manager of Residency and Education and Enterprise Medication Use Pharmacist.

When she's not leading in healthcare or Rotary, Lisa enjoys hiking, traveling, and cheering on WVU sports with her son. Her adventurous spirit extends around the globe, too. A fun fact about Lisa is that she has been skydiving in three different countries and hopes to add even more destinations to her list.

Thank you, Lisa, for your commitment to service, leadership, and making a difference in your community. We are grateful for your dedication to Rotary and District 7545! 💙💛

💙 Flood Relief Financial Assistance Applications Are Now Open

The Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur Foundation is now accepting applications for financial assistance from individuals and families impacted by the July 21 flooding in Upshur County.

Through the Upshur County Flood Relief Fund, assistance is available to help address verified unmet needs as our neighbors continue the recovery process. Awards are intended to help bridge critical gaps not covered by insurance, FEMA, or other relief resources.

The Foundation continues to work closely with the City of Buckhannon and Upshur County Commission to help ensure assistance reaches members of our community who need it most.
