APPALACHIAN FILM NIGHT

Step into the world of Fasnacht and discover one of Appalachia’s most fascinating traditions.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Kristy and Dr. Greg of the Dr. Jekyll’s Institute of Monster Studies, who will be bringing handmade Fasnacht masks to HeartHouse for a special exhibit and photo opportunity before the screening.

As Dr. Greg shared:

“If you’re a West Virginian, you need to see these films. They’ll make you so proud of your state and the artisans therein.”

We have collected assorted cleaning supplies to distribute to neighbors affected by flooding.

Many supplies just arrived today ( May 30 ) but we are assembling items into cleaning kits and we can distribute them as early as tomorrow (May 31).
—
We’re chatting with city/county officials but if you know someone in need — drop us a line. We’ll try to step in and help with distribution too.

Please join with community members delivering flood cleanup products. Neighbors need trash bags, rags, bleach, mops, sponges, and cleaning gloves. HeartHouse is serving as a collection center.

You may drop off goods at any time. We welcome your support on Saturday. Israel Jimenez and Robyn marsh will be gathering content for a future video presentations. Please use this time to talk to them.

Can You Help Our Neighbors?

The rainfall is subsiding but MANY NEIGHBORS are reporting flooding. Will you help with clean-up?

HeartHouse is serving as a DROP-OFF LOCATION for cleaning supplies for clean up. We call it a “Bags and Rags” campaign but we encourage you to drop off contractor bags, rags, bleach, mops, shovels, sponges, brooms

Drop cleaning supplies on our front porch. We will cart them to city and county distribution locations.
