Shout out to Elizabethtown Mission Team! This team of 35 folks traveled from a dozen churches of various denominations, and multiple states, to support local flood impacted families this week. If you see them in their red shirts around town, be sure to say "hi"!

We are so very thankful for newfound friends from near and far who continue to support local families impacted by the devastating flooding in July. We still have a LONG way to go in disaster recovery, but every day we get a little closer...

‼ 📢 Mold Mitigation Spray available for Lewis County families!

Many THANKS to WV Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and Roy Polmanteer - State Disaster Relief Coordinator for the West Virginia Convention of Southern Baptists, who donated ShockWave mold mitigation spray for use by Lewis County families impacted by the flooding in July!

The Southern Baptist Disaster Relief group spent several weeks in Lewis and Upshur counties spraying homes of flood impacted families. We are so appreciative of their work supporting our community! As they leave the area, they have provided us with mold mitigation spray to distribute to those in need.

⭐ ⭐ To make an appointment to pick up mold mitigation spray, Lewis County families who have been flood impacted can call and leave a message on the FRN Mobile Number: 304-886-5782. Someone from the FRN Team will call you back to make an appointment for pickup.

Along with the mold mitigation spray, each family will be provided protective gear (gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles), a sprayer (if needed), and instructions for proper use. If you already have a pump top sprayer to be used with chemicals, please bring it with you to be filled.

When using the mold mitigation spray:
** follow the provided instructions
** wear skin and eye protection
** use good ventilation
** keep children and pets away from the area until it is dry
** do not dilute the solution you are provided
** do not ever mix with other chemicals
** should only be sprayed by a responsible adult who has read the instructions

We are beginning to total up VOLUNTEER HOURS worked among the many efforts the FRN has helped facilitate for flood relief since July 21st.

ANY GUESSES on the total number of volunteer hours worked ONLY at the Market Place Mall Distribution Center from July 22 to present?

This does not count street teams, disaster volunteer work in the community, other distribution center efforts across the county, or outreach happening otherwise... ONLY hours worked at Market Place Mall distribution center.

Congratulations to our Lewis-Upshur Parents As Teachers team! Elizabeth Corder, who leads LUPAT, is being recognized this week at the Parents as Teachers International Conference for the program's recent completion of the rigorous Quality Endorsement & Improvement Process.

LUPAT met all requirements to continue their "Blue Ribbon" status! This every five year process ensures that programs are reaching the very highest Parents as Teachers quality standards.

Congratulations to the LUPAT team, as they continue to wear with pride the "Blue Ribbon Affiliate" status. We will continue working hard to bring quality services to the families we are honored to serve!

Location: The Coffeehouse, 402 Main Street, Weston
Date: Tuesday, 10/6 and Wednesday 10/7
Time: 9am-12pm
Who qualifies: Birth to High School Aged Children
Required: Each child's date of birth and home address, sizes, height, and weight for children, proof of income, birth certificates, bills, and photo ID

Please note:
- There are no sign-ups Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
- In-person sign-ups are required for children over 12 years old.
- If you apply with Lewis County Salvation Army, you cannot receive additional assistance from other agencies.
-Other counties may have different dates than Lewis County
-If you apply in person, you do not need to apply online.

The new deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance is October 17th!

Thank you Governor Patrick Morrisey for requesting this extension.

Governor Patrick Morrisey announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved his request to extend the deadline for West Virginians impacted by the July flooding to apply for federal disaster assistance.
