DuPage Paws for People Our mission is to support the learning processes of children living with vision and hearing loss in school classrooms with registered therapy animal teams.

DPP4P Team: Patti & Tori
Why DPP4P: I love that kids who know Tori, can hold the “special detail” until the end of our visit, for the new students. After tricks, grooming, walking, whatever the students want then the “big reveal” that yes, Tori IS blind. “What?! “Noooo.” “That’s so sad...” I tell the students, “On the contrary, Tori is living her best life! Her other senses are heightened and we just do things a little differently is all.”
Other Activities: We monthly visit 2 D205-Elmhurst middle schools, memory care facility visits with a cat and a guinea pig teams, and special church functions, e.g. Blessing of the Backpacks.

DPP4P Team: Tricia & Elsa
Why DPP4P: Seeing the students and Elsa interacting, especially doing tricks and walking together makes me happy. It’s so nice when they recognize her and remember what they like to do with her.
Other Activities: This summer, we ran a summer camp with dogs at the Bensenville Park District with 16 kids. We also do Elmhurst Library’s “Read to the Dogs” program.
