Cornet Vacancy

Imperial Brass is currently searching for CORNET PLAYERS! We rehearse on Sunday evenings in Westfield - performing in roughly ten engagements per year, some with world class soloists. Contact [email protected] for audition information.
We would also welcome trumpet players that are eager to try out the demands and rewards of playing a cornet.

The Golden Age of the Xylophone, soloist Julian DippolitoRecorded...

Julian Dippolito, one of the fine percussionists in Imperial Brass, a native of Toms River, currently from Jersey City, will perform “The Golden Age of the Xylophone” by Floyd Werle, and arranged for brass band by Ralph Pearce.

Premiered by Randy Eyles and The United States Air Force Band, this ragtime novelty xylophone solo with band accompaniment has been performed around the world. In 1987 it was performed during a live radio broadcast in China to an estimated audience of 60 million! Golden Age is a medley of eight tunes that were favorites of the 1900's.

Julian had inspiration to become a musician from his father, a well-known local singer/percussionist, known as “The Burn”. And he loves the sense of community that comes from being a part of a band and of the larger music world.

Come hear Julian play this piece at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, New Jersey on Thursday evening, July 2, at 7:30 pm. This free concert, featuring NY Philharmonic principal trombone, Joe Alessi, will be a summer event you will not want to miss!
