There are moments when doing the right thing costs more than you ever expected.
When choosing integrity doesn’t feel rewarding,
it feels like loss.
Loss of relationships.
Loss of reputation.
Loss of being understood.
And in those moments, it can quietly stir the question…
Is this worth it?
I came to a place where I had to decide what I actually believed.
I would rather die in my integrity than live for a lie.
That became real for me when I stood in court facing Bill Gothard—with a $220,000 sanction hanging over me—being pressured to recant. At the same time, I was being judged by Christians for refusing to stay in an abusive marriage.
It felt like I lost everything.
But I found something no one could take from me- my integrity before God.
For many women walking out of abusive or destructive relationships, this is not just a concept, it’s reality.
You may not be able to control how others see you.
You may not be able to change what people say about you.
You may not be able to keep every relationship.
But you can still choose truth.
You can still choose safety.
You can still choose integrity before God.
Even here.
You may be making hard, quiet choices that align with God's word,
setting boundaries,
telling the truth,
choosing safety,
refusing to return to what harmed you,
and instead of being affirmed, you feel misunderstood… or even judged.
It can feel like integrity is costing you more than it’s giving you.
But Scripture gently reminds us:
“Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” — Matthew 6:4
God sees.
He sees the courage it takes to choose truth after being silenced.
He sees the strength it takes to walk away when it would be easier to stay.
He sees every quiet decision to honor Him—when no one else understands.
Integrity is not proven in public,
it is formed in private.
And sometimes, it looks like this:
Choosing God’s truth over others’ opinions.
Choosing safety over staying silent.
Choosing obedience over approval.
There is a sacred kind of peace that comes
when you realize that even if everything else is stripped away,
you still have the ability to walk in integrity before Him.
It gives peace that surpasses circumstances.
It anchors you.
It reminds you that your obedience is not invisible—
even when it feels unseen.
So today, keep walking in integrity.
Not because it’s easy.
Not because it’s recognized.
But because no one can take that choice from you.
Not the past.
Not people.
Not pressure.
You still get to choose integrity before your Creator.
And He sees.
