THIS FRIDAY!

The New Bojaira Flamenco/Jazz Band performs at the Latin Jazz @ Galeria music concert series in Westfield, NJ on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 7:30pm as part of a tour by this talented group from Spain and beyond. This special concert experience will bring to you an exciting fusion of American jazz and deeply rooted flamenco music & dance.

New Bojaira (Bō-hī-ra) plays an original and engaging fusion, blending jazz improvisation with the excitement of flamenco rhythms, dance and singing to create a powerful combination of energy and subtlety on stage, taking audiences on a fascinating multi-cultural excursion.

This creative group bridges the musical traditions from both sides of the Atlantic, delivering a sound that speaks to both Jazz and Flamenco fans. Pianist Jesús Hernández, singer/flautist Alfonso Cid, saxophonist & flautist Peter Branin, double bassist Tim Ferguson, and drummer Mark Holen are joined by acclaimed Spanish flamenco dancer Elisabet Torras to generate the band’s uncommon energy with flamenco rhythms and the harmonic depth of jazz. New Bojaira's music transcends both styles, creating a new and wonderful synthesis.

With many well received concert performances in the United States, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal, this special ensemble of music artists takes the stage at the cozy GALERIA The Art Venue, located at 111 Quimby Street in downtown Westfield, NJ.

The popular Bossa Brasil Quartet will perform in concert at the Latin Jazz @ Galeria music series in Westfield, NJ. This intimate live music event, presented by TEATRO Si on Saturday, April 11 2026 at 7:30pm, transports the audience through the classic smooth sounds of the Bossa Nova from Brazil.

The quartet is led by accomplished Brazilian jazz drummer Mauricio de Souza. He is joined by Behn Gillece on vibraphone, German Gonzalez on guitar, and John Lenis on bass as together they bring their critically acknowledged sounds to the stage at GALERIA The Art Venue, located at 111 Quimby Street in downtown Westfield, NJ.

For over 20 years, Maurício de Souza has been performing and directing his own groups. Originally from Brasilia, Brasil, de Souza has released various commercial albums and has performed at the prestigious Blue Note in NYC, the Whitney Museum, Saint Peter's Church, Jazz at Kitano Hotel, Garage Jazz Restaurant, NJPAC, Red Bank Jazz and Blues Festival, and the Westfield Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival among many others.

His albums include "Here. There...", "Different Directions", “Trajetorias” and “Five Roads” and have achieved high critic and public acclaim. The albums were covered in Jazz Week and were featured on WBGO, Sirius XM, Pandora, Music Choice, and numerous radio stations in the US, Canada, Brazil, Canary Islands, and Venezuela. De Souza has also been featured in numerous publications, including the cover of Hot House Jazz Magazine (and Different Directions was reviewed on "Winning Spins"), Jazz Times Magazine, Modern Drummer Magazine and Blog, New York City Jazz Record, Jazz Inside New York, Revista Gente, The Star Ledger and others.

The Bossa Brasil Quartet performs classic standards of the Brazilian jazz repertoire & more. The sophisticated and pulsating arrangements include original compositions as well as popular standards by Tom Jobim, Milton Nascimento, Hermeto Pascoal, Pat Metheny and Freddie Hubbard.

Direct from Buenos Aires, Argentina and beyond, the music of the Javier Madrazo Quartet is a sophisticated synthesis where the soulful heritage of Buenos Aires converses with the modern pulse of New York City. A composer and guitarist lauded as a "promising new voice" in jazz, his work traverses a rich stylistic landscape: from the intricate swing of Straight-Ahead Jazz and the rhythmic nuances of Brazilian and Argentinian music to the sleek, melodic currents of Pop and the exploratory spirit of Modern Jazz.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an unforgettable music concert experience as The Oscar Feldman Quintet brings the warmth, passion, and elegance of Latin romanticism to the stage at the popular Latin Jazz @ Galeria music concert series. This special concert program ranges from Latin Jazz & Tango to timeless Boleros, featuring music by legendary composers such as Gato Barbieri, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Lalo Schifrin, and others. Each piece is reinterpreted with soulful expression, rhythmic vitality, and the refined artistry that defines Feldman’s sound.

At the heart of the evening is Argentinian saxophonist Oscar Feldman, an acclaimed figure in contemporary jazz, joined by an exceptional lineup of accomplished & award-winning musicians from today’s vibrant jazz scene including; pianist Steve Sandberg, acoustic bassist Pete Swanson, drummer Diego Lopez, conga player and percussionist Luisito Quintero, plus a special guest singer. Their combined energy promises a night of rich textures, captivating improvisation, and unforgettable musical moments.

Feldman’s distinguished career includes winning a Grammy Award as a member of the big band led by Paquito D’Rivera for the album Tropicana Nights—the first Grammy for the Best Latin Jazz album to win in its category in 2000. His deep musical heritage and international acclaim infuse this concert with both authenticity and brilliance.
