Started in 1997 by local ceramist Jeff Napp, Bowls for Hunger has been an annual event that unites the local community with the intent of raising funds and collecting non-perishable food for the Marquette County Food Pantry. With the collaboration of Westfield Area High School clubs and organizations, this gathering has consistently helped to provide food for families in need.
Despite the difficulties of the year, this tradition and fundraiser is important now more than ever. Although an indoor dinner is not possible, an alternative option will be employed: through the company Little Caesar’s, specialty pizza kits and cookie dough will be available to purchase with all profits going to the local food pantry. By going to the Little Caesar’s website, an individual can select and pay for items that will help support this occasion. The food will be delivered to Westfield Area High School on December 14th. In order to maintain custom, any person who chooses to pick-up their order will receive a hand-thrown and glazed bowl made by Jeff Napp and the students/staff of the high school.
If interested in aiding in this cause, specific instructions for placing orders will be shared on an upcoming post. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to message this account.
