We also provide counseling and educational support for at-risk children in our schools, and for adults who need to improve their literacy skills.

The Westfield United Fund (WUF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the Westfield, New Jersey community while supporting nonprofit partners across Union County. Through our grants, we help senior citizens live independently, provide housing for the physically and developmentally disabled, help single parents and low-income families meet their needs for childcare and after-school programs and provide counseling and shelter to domestic abuse victims.

A child in foster care may have court dates, school changes, and medical appointments. A Child Focus volunteer helps make sure their needs stay in focus.

In the first six months of 2026, Child Focus’ 86 trained volunteers advocated for 124 children in foster care in Union County.

Westfield United Fund helps support the professional supervision that guides these volunteers as they visit children, coordinate with caregivers, and advocate for their best interests.

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Linda Maggio, a true trailblazer whose vision and dedication shaped the Westfield United Fund into the pillar of support it is today.

For nearly four decades as a Trustee and our Executive Director, Linda poured her soul into this community. She built WUF's professional foundation, growing our annual fundraising by nearly 150% and ensuring local agencies had the critical resources they needed to thrive. When our town faced unimaginable tragedy in 2001, Linda stepped up to coordinate the immense outpouring of support for Westfield's 9/11 widows, creating an aid program that became a model for communities everywhere.

Linda was a guiding light and the very heart of Westfield. Thank you, Linda, for a lifetime of service. We promise to carry your mission forward.

Meet the Buddy Bench! Westfield United Fund is proud to support Project Playground's initiative and donate a Buddy Bench to EVERY elementary school playground in Westfield!

For many older adults, community isn't just a nice-to-have—it is a vital lifeline. Studies show that social isolation can take a severe toll on physical and mental health, which is why the Westfield United Fund is proud to support the JCC of Central NJ of Central New Jersey's Adult Enrichment Program.

Thanks to your donations, our annual grant helps fund a welcoming, vibrant space where over 150 local seniors gather four days a week. It is a place to stay active, build lasting friendships, and receive warm, personalized care from dedicated professionals like Program Director Alison Rivlin.
