🐾 WEST POINT NEIGHBORS — BE ON THE LOOKOUT! 🏡

This Sunday, our Pack 340 Cub Scouts will be heading out across West Point to distribute food donation bags throughout neighborhoods in support of Pointer Packs! 🎒🛍

At tonight's Pack Meeting, our Scouts focused on the importance of giving back to our community as we prepared to kick off this year's food collection!

💙 What is Pointer Packs?
Pointer Packs is a wonderful local program that helps provide food to West Point Public Schools students in need, ensuring all children have access to food outside of school.

🛍️ How You Can Help:

Keep an eye out for a donation bag and informational flyer arriving at your home this Sunday!

Fill your bag with approved, non-perishable food items listed on the flyer.

Place your filled bag on your front porch by 12 PM on Sunday, November 22, when our Troop 340 Scouts will return to collect donations.

Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference for children right here in West Point!

🍿🥜 Today is our FINAL DAY of Popcorn & Peanut Sales! Our Cub Scouts from Pack 340 are set up at Horn’s Ace Hardware in West Point from 9am-3pm, and we’d love for you to stop by!

✈️ A BIG thank you to Semper Flight Aviation Center! ⚜️

This past Sunday, Cub Scout Pack 340 took to the skies (well, almost!) with a visit to Semper Flight Aviation Center in West Point!

Our Scouts got an up-close look at one of their airplanes and received a crash course in aviation, airplanes, and the science of flight! 🛫

And, of course, our Scouts came prepared with about a MILLION questions! 😂 Thankfully, the team was very patient and ready for every single one!

A huge THANK YOU to Mike, Sallie, Dante, Dave, and the entire team at Semper Flight Aviation Center and Colonial Air Tours for welcoming our Pack, sharing your knowledge, and making it such a fun and memorable experience for our Scouts!

Who knows? Maybe we have a few future pilots in Pack 340! Be sure to check out their young aviators program!👨‍✈️

🦀 Thank you to all of our Cub Scout families who came out for the West Point Crab Carnival last weekend!

It was a busy day for our Scouts, walking in the parade, working our booth selling popcorn and peanuts, and finishing things off by helping clean up the sidewalks around town after the event…in just a bit of rain! 🌧️😂

We’re proud of our Scouts for pitching in and giving back to the community, and grateful to all the families who helped make the day a success! ⚜️💙💛

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out for our first Pack 340 hike! Despite the hills and humidity… everyone survived!😂💦

We hope everyone had a great time exploring the trails, and that our new Scouts and families had a chance to meet some new faces and get to know the Pack a little better.

And a special shoutout to all the parents and family members who hiked along with us, you definitely got your steps in today! 👟

Thanks for making our first hike a fun one. We’re looking forward to plenty more Pack 340 adventures together this year!

🥾 PACK HIKE TODAY! 🌲

Pack 340 families — just a reminder that we’re heading out for our Pack Hike at Beaverdam Park in Gloucester today!

📍 Beaverdam Park
8687 Roaring Springs Rd, Gloucester, VA 23061
⏰ Meet by 3:00 PM
🥾 Hike: About 3 miles
🏁 Finish: Around 5:00 PM

⚠️ Important: Beaverdam Park has TWO entrances. Please make sure you enter through the MAIN PARK ENTRANCE on Roaring Springs Rd. We’ll try to gather at a pavilion or group of picnic tables once everyone arrives.

🌧️ Plan for some mud! With all the rain yesterday, the trails may be wet and muddy. Please wear comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

🎒 Remember your Cub Scout Six Essentials! This is a great opportunity for Scouts to practice being prepared, so bring as many of your Six Essentials as you can. We’ll have a first-aid kit with us and will provide a snack for everyone.

Looking forward to a fun afternoon on the trail. See everyone at 3! 🌲⚜️🥾
