Trail work never stops…this morning Skip met up with Bureau of Trails & Phil from Friends of the Ossipee Rail Trail to survey the Corridor 19 bridge over the Lovell River north of Center Ossipee…this bridge will need to be revitalized this Summer to safely accommodate the hikers, bikers and equestrians that will share the first new section of the proposed rail trail from Center Ossipee up to the Route 16 crossing…once the final plans are made we will be reaching out for work parties as this project will require coordination and labor from several user groups…

OSSIPEE — Outdoor enthusiasts could have a nearly 3-mile stone-dust trail built next to the Conway Branch rail by early fall, state officials told an advisory committee on Wednesday.

Our Trailmaster sends a big thanks to all of our landowners as he finishes up the tedious task of retrieving this past season’s trail signage…another example of Winter trail work that goes on year round while many have shifted to Spring & Sumner pursuits…

As we close up the trails and put our equipment to bed for the off-season we would be remiss to not thank our landowners once again…if not for their kindness & generosity we simply would have no place to ride…it all begins and ends with them…❄️☃️❄️

TRAILS UPDATE:
The Trailmaster reports trails held up well over the weekend (according to rider reports) but will be fading quickly with the current weather…in particular wherever the railbed is exposed to direct sunlight rails/ties/spikes are or will be quickly rearing their ugly head…enjoy what we have left for riding time and expect the usual Spring like conditions with associated hazards…ride appropriately and safely…system will be evaluated daily until its time to start closing gates…and finally a big thank you for folks staying on trail this season…❄️☃️❄️
