🐱🚨 KITTEN CRISIS: The Tiny Freeloaders Need Litter! 🚨🐱

We've reached a very important milestone in kitten development here at Harbor Humane:

The babies are learning how to use the bathroom all by themselves.

That's right. No more having mom (or a very dedicated foster parent) handle all of their personal hygiene needs. These tiny roommates are officially entering their "independent living" era. 🎉

Unfortunately, they're also entering their "everything looks edible" era. 🙃

Which is why we desperately need **NON-CLUMPING CLAY LITTER**.

While adult cats understand that the litter box is a bathroom, kittens sometimes look at it and think:

👀 "Is this food?"
👀 "Should I taste it?"
👀 "Why is the floor crunchy?"

Because kittens make questionable life choices, non-clumping litter is the safest option while they're learning the ropes.

Right now, we have a LOT of kittens in foster care, and our supply is disappearing faster than a kitten can sprint across a room at 3 a.m. for absolutely no reason.

How you can help:

🐾 Pick up non-clumping clay litter while you're out shopping
🐾 Drop donations off at Harbor Humane or in our donation shed

Every bag helps keep our tiniest residents safe while they master the complicated art of "potty goes in the box, not in my mouth."

Thank you for supporting the world's cutest freeloaders. They contribute absolutely nothing to the household expenses, have no concept of personal space, and regularly commit acts of chaos...
..but they're very cute, so we keep them around. ❤️🐱

🎉 Another incredible week at Harbor Humane Society! 🎉

Because of adopters, fosters, volunteers, donors, and supporters like YOU, last week we celebrated:

🐱 28 cats adopted
🐶 17 dogs adopted
🏡 23 community cats returned to their outdoor homes through our Return-to-Field program
❤️ 1 cat and 5 dogs reunited with their families

That's 74 animals helped in just one week!

But the work isn't slowing down. We currently have more than 276 animals in our care and foster homes waiting for their next chapter. From playful kittens and lovable dogs to adorable bunnies, sweet guinea pigs, and even a handsome rooster, there's truly someone for everyone looking for a new best friend.

Our next round of Summer Camps is almost here, and Animal Art Camp is the purr-fect way to spend part of your summer!

This 3-day camp is packed with creative animal-themed arts and crafts, hands-on activities, and plenty of time with our furry friends. Whether your camper loves painting, crafting, drawing, or simply spending time with animals, they're sure to have a paw-some time!

📅 Ages 8-10: June 29-July 1
⏰ 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

At 6 years old and just 15 pounds, Luna may be small in size, but she has a big personality and an even bigger heart. Once she feels safe and comfortable, this sweet girl transforms into the ultimate cuddle bug. Her favorite things include burrowing under blankets, soaking up tummy rubs, riding along on car adventures, and playing fetch—especially if her beloved rocks are involved! 🪨🎾

It's been awhile and tonight we have an adoption update to share with you on Sugar the kitty! 🐈

"Sugar has been doing AMAZING and is settling in perfectly. She has reached total boss status in the house! Sweet little 6lb sugar has no problem telling my 80lb lab exactly how to act.

She has been on so many road trips and loves looking out the window. She travels like a queen… never left behind and always included. She has visited Chicago with our blended family (her dog brother), met her human grandma and great grandma.

She loves morning kisses and sharing pillows all night long.

As old as she is, we have finally got her diet down. She has a custom staircase to get on the bed. I couldn’t love my little bug more!"

Tango is, in every sense of the phrase, "a ladies' man." 💅

He meets women and says, "You seem trustworthy. Tell me everything."
He meets men and says, "Security has been notified." 🚨

It's nothing personal. He's simply committed to maintaining extremely high standards for his inner circle.

Once Tango decides you're one of his people, though? Game over. He transforms into a goofy, affectionate lovebug who lives for toys, squeakers, belly rubs, and hanging out with his favorite humans. He redirects easily and responds well, which is encouraging, but he'll need management, separation, and continued training to be successful in a home with cats. He's smart and eager to connect—he just occasionally makes questionable career choices as a self-appointed feline fitness coach.

What Tango really needs is someone who understands that trust takes time. Give him patience, consistency, and a chance to settle in, and you'll discover a funny, loyal companion with a huge heart and an even bigger personality.
