If you have a special needs pup, and you haven’t joined us at the Special K9 Games, please consider it this year, I promise you that you will be glad you did!

These two deaf blind boys are really looking forward to the Special K9 Games in Columbus, Ohio in November.

Piglet LOVES agility and will run up and down the A-frame over and over, and through the longest curved tunnels, like a champ.

Years ago he was rejected by a local agility place bc they felt he was too big of a liability for their facility. Obviously, he can't run on the equipment alone- I hold his harness so he can't fall off. It was blatant discrimination which is very sad.

The purpose of the annual Games is to give disabled dogs a chance to learn and have fun on agility equipment, rodeo, tricks, and nosework. We have workshops on the first day and competitions on the second day.

We also hope to raise awareness about disabled dogs like Piglet and Georgie. They may do it differently, but they still want to participate just like every other dog.

If you have a disabled dog, we'd love to see you on Nov 14-15 in Columbus. If you don't, we are having a meet and greet at The Games on the 14th and we'd love to see you there!

Aren't these two adorable- posing in front of the banner?

They will literally pose anywhere I put them!

Guess what their bandanas say!

This was FOUR YEARS AGO ALREADY! Rosie went to such a beautiful forever home, happy GOTCHA DAY dear Rosie!❤️

During the best of times, rescue is hard. This year has not been the best. Every day I wonder how much longer I can do this before I lose my mind. Too many dogs, not enough homes, never enough money, so much negativity and egos out of control in the world of dog rescue. But then there are adoptions like this one that make it all worthwhile. Today one of the most amazing puppies I’ve ever fostered went to live with an amazing family and continue the legacy of an amazing dog named Keller. Today makes continuing this crazy life the right thing to do. Congratulations to our beautiful deaf and blind girl ROSIE 🌹Her new life began today, and I look forward to seeing where it takes her.

It was a big day for STARR — she was adopted! Her new mama flew in from Colorado to Columbus Ohio, spent some time getting to know her, and then this brave puppy left with her new family to board a flight to her new home. I’ve heard that everyone at the airport loves her, and she has been the best traveller 🩷🐕✈️
I’m excited to see photos of her in her new home soon!

Our little STARR is ready to find her forever home! We are accepting applications now and would like to get them processed in the next few days. We already have several very good applications on her@, so I have no worries that this girl has a very bright future. If you’d like to be considered, please submit an application through the link below.
Adoption fee is $350, and $100 will be refunded after her spay. She’s vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.
Start’s perfect home would be with another young dog to play with, she is very into other dogs.
She loves all people, and although we have not tested her with very young children, we don’t feel that she would have any issues there. Starr’s father is a Bernese Mountain dog, her mother is half Bernese Mountain Dog and half poodle. We have submitted a DNA test for breed and health, but will not have results for a few weeks.
Starr is good at finding weak points of the fence and escaping, so solid fenced in yard would be best for her.
Starr has compromised hearing, and compromised vision. She appears to have unilateral hearing, which results in her not being able to place the direction of the sound. She also seems to be somewhat farsighted, but has trouble seeing objects close to her, so she often bumps into things. Establishment with an ophthalmologist to monitor her eyes is recommended.
Starr is doing very well with potty training, but it’s still a puppy and will require work with this once she comes to her new home . She does not handle being crated very well, she will circle and defecate in her crate if she is left alone. Her foster mom has crated her with another dog and that has been successful.
Application for star can be found here :

If you have applied for Starr already, thank you, and we have your application and will be reviewing shortly.

Curious minds want to know! We decided to DNA test pretty Starr. She looks so much like a double merle, but since she’s a poodle/Bernese mountain dog cross, double Merle shouldn’t really be a thing. So let’s find out! The test is at the lab and we should know something in a few few weeks. What do you think? Double Merle or just double merle look-alike?

This puppy, STARR, is just adorable. Here is some puppy spam for your Sunday night!
Starr is doing great at her foster home, she is pretty much potty trained already, and although she had some separation anxiety with crate training, she does great if she is crated with another dog. She just doesn’t want to be lonely!
She will be available for adoption soon.

Welcome STARR to Pawsavers! WHY IS THIS PUPPY SO CUTE??? Little Miss Starr is a 10 week old Bernadoodle puppy. She has most of her hearing, and very little of her vision. We just picked her up today, so she’s being evaluated by her foster mom to help us understand her and her needs before we search for the perfect home. She is bold and curious, plays with the other dogs in the home, and wants to explore everything. I think she’s going to be a really fun dog. And, well, that face! Just simply adorable ❤️
