The circle of life happens in every living thing on earth. Like humans, trees experience the same stages of life from conception (seed), birth (sprout), infancy (seedling), juvenile (sapling), adulthood (mature), elderly (decline), and finally, death (snag).
The International President’s theme this year is “Rooted in Service”. With a full tree as the symbol. Each club is like a tree which started with a seed of an idea based on the motto,” We Serve”. Clubs grow year after year with new members and new ideas and service projects. Some clubs continue to grow and mature and live long lives. Unfortunately, some clubs need more
input to sustain them just like a tree needs sun and water and attention to their roots. That means more room for growth and welcoming new members and soaks up new ideas. Some trees need professional assistance and there are many experienced members out there willing to help. A
branch club or seedling form the original club makes that club stronger. Trees are living things and do socialize according to some scientific studies. Clubs are also living things and do better together. Let us continue to nurture our clubs to keep them strong and growing.

At last nights club meeting, we welcomed WMUR News 9 anchor and author Jennifer Vaughn, who shared insights from her latest book, “I’m Okay If You’re Okay.”

Jennifer spoke about Chris Aucoin, whose story inspired her book, and the stigma surrounding mental health among veterans and law enforcement officers. Her presentation highlighted the importance of breaking down barriers, encouraging open conversations, and supporting those who serve our communities.

We were also honored to have Chris’s parents, Brent and Paula Aucoin, join us for this meaningful evening.

Thank you Jen, Brent, and Paula, for joining us and helping bring awareness to such an important topic.
