“The creativity with which this playwright sends up the original Austen work is a joy to behold. And the acting is superb, spirited. Improta’s portrayal of both suitors, (just two of his multiple roles) impresses with his use of facial expression and physicality to produce two very distinct characters. Upper Valley audiences would be fortunate to see any or all three of these actors on stage in a future production.”

“The virtuoso performances and invigorating freshness of Northanger Abbey take viewers to another world that very much ought to be.”
- Alex Brown, Seven Days

“The production explores love, identity, q***rness, and the possibilities that emerge when people begin to question the futures they once imagined for themselves. I find this very relatable and a human experience directly related to the times one may be living in.”

Catherine Morland knows little of the world, but who needs real-life experience when you have novels to guide you? Seizing her chance to escape her claustrophobic family and join the smart set in Bath, she meets worldly, sophisticated Isabella Thorpe – Iz, to her friends – and so Cath’s very own adventure begins. This playful and surprising reimagining of Northanger Abbey is infused with the spirit of Jane Austen’s original novel and fizzes with imagination and humor.
