Thank you Greater Des Moines Partnership for inviting Women of the World to provide sweets for the 2026 Regional Summit. Being part of the Spark program this summer has been a tremendous catalyst for the refugee women bakers/entrepreneurs.

Pari, with her famous baklava, and her daughter Monika will be leading their own farmers market stand on Friday!

This is an exciting opportunity for them and also a new event sponsored by Drake University student senate! Be sure to come check it out and visit with Pari and Monika!

The weather forecast looks like it will be a beautiful day for the event!

☀️We hope that you are enjoying the sunshine today! Unfortunately, due to the forecast later this week, we’re sorry to share that we will not be able to attend our final two farmers markets of the season. Neither has officially cancelled their markets this weekend, so keep an eye on supporting vendors who attend when the weather is so unknown.

Cancelled for Women of the World
Valley Junction — Thursday, September 24
Ankeny — Saturday, September 26

We’re incredibly grateful for your support and understanding. This summer has been a wonderful success, with 26 women participating in at least 1 of our 42 markets and several selling at 25 markets!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported our refugee vendors, and helped make this season so meaningful.

We look forward to building on this momentum next year. If you’re interested in volunteering with us, please send us a DM or email [email protected].
