Wow! Thanks to a few last minute donations we managed to surpass our goal of $5,000 and reach $7,318! And with the contributions from our anonymous donor who pledged to match the donation total up to $5,000, it brings our fundraising total up to $12,318! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated in the past few months to the Library, every little bit contributed has allowed us to not only meet our goal but surpass it!

Celebrate Pablo Picasso's birthday month with us at the Bowlby Library by making a Picasso-inspired self portrait throughout October! Using your own supplies or by coming into the library and asking for a magazine to cut, tear, rearrange, and transform into a collage, make a self portrait that represents you! Turn in your finished artwork the week of October 19th to have it displayed in our gallery ALL DAY LONG on Friday, October 23rd.

All ages are invited to enter their self portrait for our gallery, no sign-up required! Please call the library at 724-627-9776 with any questions.

It's almost October, which means it's almost time for our Paint-a-Pumpkin Contest to begin! 🎨🖌️ Artists of all ages are invited to paint a pumpkin at home and bring it to the library by Monday, October 19th to be judged by our patrons. You must provide your own pumpkin to enter the contest! Paint anything you love: cartoon characters, your favorite book or movie, seasonal designs, or your own creative idea that inspires you!

Starting October 1st, the Bowlby Library will begin accepting painted pumpkins to enter into one of the contest's four age groups: Talented Tiny Tots (5 and under), Pumpkin Patch Kids (6-12), Teenage Pumpkins (13-18), and Grown-up Gourds (19+). The painted pumpkin that gets the most patron votes in each age group by October 24th will win a prize! There's just one rule: please keep your designs family friendly! All winners will be announced on October 26th. Please call the library at 724-627-9776 with any questions. We can't wait to see how everyone brings their pumpkins to life! 🎃
