Last night’s Pompton Lakes Woman’s Club International Dinner was an evening of shopping, dining, and friendship.

We began the night with a special extended shopping event exclusively for club members at Weyward Market on Wanaque Avenue, then headed next door to Krij Thai for a delicious dinner featuring a sampling of authentic Thai specialties.

The evening was filled with great food, good friends, plenty of laughter, and the opportunity to support two outstanding local businesses

🍨 Did I hear ICE CREAM? Yes, you did! Tomorrow night at 7pm, we will be having our annual Ice Cream Social. Please join us to enjoy each others company and America's favorite dessert. We will be showcasing items made by members for Achievement Day that were brought to State Convention and Spring Conference. We will be giving out ribbons from both events so come celebrate with us. Yesterday, a few members of the Pompton Lakes Woman’s Club joined together with members of the Pompton Reformed Church to complete the planting for the 2026 community garden on the church porch.

As many may remember, this project first began last year as a collaboration between the church and the local Boy Scouts, when the raised garden beds were originally built. This season’s harvest will include tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and a variety of fresh herbs. We are especially looking forward to Pastor John incorporating some of those veggies & herbs into his famous vegetarian chili, served each month at the church’s free community dinner.

Members of the Pompton Lakes community came together for the annual Walk for Hope, an event coordinated by the Pompton Lakes Prevention Coalition and supported by the Health and Wellness Coalition (HAWC) and other local organizations. The walk raised awareness for mental health and continued the important effort to break the stigma surrounding mental health conditions. Mayor Serra, members of the PLPD, borough officials, residents, students, and staff were all in attendance, demonstrating the community’s shared commitment to this meaningful cause. Several donations were also made to the NJ Veterans Network, highlighting the compassion and generosity demonstrated throughout the event. Thank you to all who participated and contributed to the success of the Walk for Hope; together, we continue to build a stronger, more compassionate community.

At a recent Rotary Club meeting, the Pompton Lakes Woman’s Club presented a check to fund signage for the athletic field lightning detectors. The detectors alert the public to lightning within a 10-mile radius with a horn and strobe light, and sound an all-clear when conditions are safe.

This project was a partnership between the Borough and School District, and our Club was happy to support this important safety initiative. Signs will be installed soon at various locations. When the horn and strobe activate, please seek shelter in a building or vehicle immediately.
