We are thrilled to receive a two-year $25,000 Empowerment Grant from The Provident Bank Foundation! This grant will help support our Safe Babies Court Team program, providing specialized support for children in foster care aged 0-3. Thank you !

Children who have suffered abuse and neglect need you in their corner. With just 10-15 hours a month, you can be that person for a child in need. Be a CASA volunteer.

Eight-month-old James couldn’t say how he was feeling while in foster care, but his CASA volunteer knew ways to understand how he was doing. During regular visits, she observed James respond to his caregivers, whether he was reaching developmental milestones, and how he reacted to new surroundings. She also spoke regularly with his pediatrician and caregivers about his health, development, and routines. By focusing on even small signs in James’ behavior, the CASA volunteer helped ensure his needs were recognized and addressed — before he even had the words to express them.

Three-year-old Ethan had fallen behind in development after living in severely neglectful conditions. His CASA volunteer noticed during visits that Ethan had difficulty communicating, following simple directions, and joining other children in play. In speaking with his caregivers, he learned that Ethan had not been connected with Early Intervention services. His CASA volunteer brought the concern to court, and Ethan was connected with appropriate developmental supports. For children three and under, every month matters. Ethan’s CASA volunteer made sure his support didn't wait.
