📊 DPI released new Forward Exam results for 2025–26.

Statewide, English language arts proficiency for grades 3–8 ticked up slightly, from 51.6% to 53%. But these results don't tell the full story.

Two years ago, DPI lowered the score students need to be considered proficient. That makes Wisconsin's results look better than they are and makes it harder to compare our kids with students across the country.

Wisconsin kids deserve high standards, and families deserve honest information about how they're really doing.

📚 Our Founder and CEO, Brittany Kinser, visited two kindergarten classrooms at Milwaukee College Prep and saw five-year-olds already reading and writing five-word sentences, just seven weeks into the school year. That’s what high expectations look like. Wisconsin’s kids are capable of more, and it’s time for our education system to expect more, too.
