📚 The future of the Wauwatosa Public Library continues to be an important community conversation.

We were encouraged to hear the Library highlighted during the recent State of the City address, including the exciting milestone that library circulation reached its highest level in the library's 140-year history.

As discussions continue regarding future Library and City Hall improvements, we encourage community members to stay informed and participate in upcoming community engagement opportunities:

📍 Monday, June 15 | 10:00–10:30 a.m.
City Hall/Library Lobby (outside of a Children's Library Program in the Civic Center)

📍 Thursday, June 18 | 2:00 p.m.
During a Library Young Adult Program

Members of the Wauwatosa Public Library Foundation Board and Communications Committee were proud to attend both the Council’s Committee of the Whole meeting on May 12 and the City of Wauwatosa’s State of the City event on May 14.

During the Committee of the Whole meeting, Foundation President Cass Bergemann spoke on behalf of the Foundation regarding the future of the Wauwatosa Public Library and the exciting possibilities ahead for our community spaces. Library Director Pete Loeffel also represented the Library at the State of the City event, helping to highlight the important role the Library continues to play in the Wauwatosa community.

Updated concepts and renderings for the Library/City Hall project were shared as part of the City’s ongoing discussions surrounding the future of these important community spaces. We are excited about the continued vision, collaboration, and community engagement shaping what comes next for Wauwatosa.

The Wauwatosa Public Library has long served as a place for learning, creativity, connection, and opportunity. It is exciting to see conversations continuing around how these spaces can evolve to serve future generations. 📚✨

Next time you visit the Adult Library at Wauwatosa Public Library take a look at what donor support has made possible.

Thanks to donations from last year’s annual appeal, additional study pods were installed — creating quiet, comfortable spaces for students, professionals, and community members alike.

It’s a visible reminder that donor support doesn’t just fund programs — it builds spaces that support learning, creativity, and connection.

Thank you to everyone who makes this possible. 📚
