Loose dog alert. One of our members found the pictured loose dog on 65th St. She was able to catch the dog. If this is your dog or you know whose it is, contact me and I can get you in contact with the person who caught them.

Save the date and call for volunteers. This year's CJPNA trick or treat will be Saturday October 31st 5:00-8:00PM.

We are going to try some new things this year and need some help to make it happen.

Glow Bracelet and C***r Stations-We would like to have a handful houses in the neighborhood giving out visibility glow bracelets and c***r during trick or treat this year. CJPNA would provide the bracelets and c***r and send out a map of participating houses ahead of time. If you are interested in volunteering to serve as a station, email [email protected]. (PS, thanks to whoever recommended this idea last year at a meeting, I did not write your name in my notes)

Virtual Costume Contest- We are going to have a virtual costume contest this year with prizes for multiple categories. The plan is to have people submit photos over email or Facebook and then members can vote for the winners via Google Form the NA will put together. Category and prize details to come. USA Triathlon is holding their Nationals in Milwaukee August 7-9 and they are looking for volunteers. Volunteer roles include handing out Gatorade at aid stations, bag check and bike check stations, finish line support, and more. See the attached flyer for details. Registration at the link below.

Found a Pop Up Plant sale at 5922 W Wells St this morning. They have a good selection of tomatoes, peppers, and squash if you need to fill out your vegetable garden. They said they were only going to selling until noon or so today.

Are You Interested in Helping Pets in Need?

Our Girl Scout Bronze Award group from Troop 36140 is hosting a pet supply drive and educating people on a new pet shelter program.

Pet Food & Supply Drive 5/4-5/14

We are putting a donation box at Bentley’s Pet Stuff in Wauwatosa to collect donations of pet toys, pet food (new or opened) and other necessities such as leashes, collars, cat litter, etc…The toys and supplies can be new or gently used and clean. The donation bin will be at Bentley’s from 5/4-5/14. Please be a friend to animals in need!

Benchwarmer Foster to Adopt

Do you want to adopt a dog but worry they would be a good fit? The Wisconsin Humane Society has a new program where you can foster a benchwarmer and see if it works out. Benchwarmers are dogs at the Wisconsin Humane Society that have been at the shelter longer than average. This might be because they have lingering stereotypes, physical differences, or they are considered “too old”. This program gives a chance for you to find a forever friend and the dog to find a forever home. Call for TGIF Hosts!

We are hoping to restart TGIF's this summer and are looking for volunteers to host.

TGIFs are informal get-togethers hosted by NA members at their homes. They are held 1 Friday evening a month in the summer (depending on host availability). They are generally BYOB.
