Wisconsin Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) helps families buy food while school is out. Summer EBT provides food benefits to children who cannot access school-based free or reduced-price meals during the summer. Families can receive a one-time benefit of $120 for the summer for each qualifying child.

Families: If your household income qualifies, your children can get Summer EBT. Some families automatically qualify and the benefit will be added to their existing QUEST card. Find out who automatically qualifies.

Emergency Notice: The City of Milwaukee is entertaining a proposal to allow a computer data center to be built on the Midtown Center property on N. 60th Street, just north of Capitol Drive. The City Plan Commission will hold a public hearing about the proposal on Monday, May 18. The public is invited and those wishing to provide testimony can do so in person, online, or via email.

Earth Day in May, at Sherman Park, May 17, noon - 4pm

Earth Day is over, but Earth Day in May is coming! This community-centered environmental event will bring together residents and partners on May 17 for an afternoon of sustainability education, resource sharing and neighborhood activities. It will feature community resources focused on environmental education, sustainability and neighborhood beautification.

Earn some green while exploring green careers. If you're 14 to 21 years old and live in Sherman Park, Lindsay Heights or Harambee, you can earn a stipend of $15 an hour while gaining hands-on experience in nature-based solutions and community outreach. Apply to join the Greening Congregations Initiative Youth Corps. No prior experience is required. But hurry! Monday, May 4, is the deadline to apply.
