The winning organization at August's Progressive Components HQ meeting to get a $250 donation from STAR was Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, specifically the Division of Nephrology. Lurie's is home to the region’s largest pediatric kidney diseases (pediatric nephrology) team, caring for more than 4,000 infants, children and adolescents each year. Today was Donation Delivery Day of all 📚🖍️🗂️ that were collected and purchased as part of STAR's annual School Supply Drive! Thank you to all who contributed to this effort as school administrators have already chosen families in need of the availability of these items to support their kids when the school year begins.

Our Diaper & Paper Goods Drive has officially come to a close. Our partners at Keeping Families Covered calculated an incredible 1,039 essential care items donated! Beyond that count, today we were grateful to deliver the remaining donations of paper goods to the Wauconda Island Lake Food Pantry.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped support families in our community. Every contribution makes a difference!

We're excited to keep the momentum going as we turn our focus to the annual School Supply Drive.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our Diaper & Paper Goods Drive! Thanks to your generosity, we were able to deliver a collection of diapers, wipes, and feminine hygiene products to Keeping Families Covered, helping ensure local families have access to necessities.

We're not done yet— there’s still time to give! Paper goods donations collected during the drive will be delivered to the Wauconda Island Lake Food Pantry next week, helping even more families in our community. In the meantime, collection bins at the Main Street Center and the Wauconda Park District will remain available over the weekend for anyone who would still like to contribute.

To everyone who donated, shared our event, or helped make this drive a success— THANK YOU! Your kindness is making a difference, one family at a time. ❤️

The winning organization at June's Progressive Components HQ meeting to get a $250 donation from STAR was Enchanted Backpack. This organization was started with the belief that all children deserve to have the tools they need to learn and excel and that all teachers deserve to have the support and materials to make their classrooms exciting learning centers. Enchanted Backpack is a charitable organization serving under-resourced elementary and middle schools in Northern Illinois, Northwest Indiana, and is expanding its support to include Florida.
